“Excellent”

This was my second visit here this year. On both occasions it was excellent, and felt like home from home. .Housed in a separate block across the courtyard from the main house in a quiet street a very short walk from central Lincoln.
The bed was comfortable , the bathroom on the ground floor small but very modern and clean. The welcome is friendly and the breakfast is superb with locally made Lincolnshire sausages, eggs etc, fresh coffee, granary toast, home made marmalades and Jams.

“Comfortable Stay in Most Convenient Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

We would like to add our praises for this conveniently located B&B in Lincoln. The very clean and nicely decorated bedrooms are in the renovated stables building across the courtyard from the main house, along with an open kitchen dining area where our hostess prepared an excellent breakfast for us each morning. In our case, this was a perfect arrangement as we were meeting up with friends in Lincoln and since they also had booked into this B&B, we, in fact, had the building to ourselves. It is an ideal situation for a family or small group traveling together.
The host and hostess both are welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a lovely little garden patio for guests to enjoy and secure, off-street parking is available in the small courtyard. It was wonderful just to park the car and forget about it during our stay.

Lincoln is a fascinating town, and the walk from the B&B into the historic centre takes just minutes. The cathedral is amazing (we recommend the “roof” tour for those not adverse to heights) and Lincoln has a wealth of historic houses, nice shops and excellent restaurants.
We would definitely recommend Stables B&B!

“Comfortable B & B - central location in Lincoln”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

We spent two nights in July at the Stables B & B. We were made very welcome by Philippa and her husband.

Good location with parking and easy walking distance of Lincoln city centre.

Fantastic breakfast each morning cooked for us by Philippa with tasty local produce, home made bread and jam and fresh fruit from her garden.

Excellent value for money and we will stay there again.

“What a fantastic find...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We were in Lincoln for a wedding, the reception was right beside the Castle. This charming B&B was about five minutes walk away - far enough for it to be quiet and close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to visit in the city centre, whilst parked for free in their walled and gated parking spaces. You can see the catherdral and tower from the bedroom window. Rooms were simply but comfortably furnished and very clean. Bathroom included a bath and shower and was a nice size. TV, kettle, hairdryer etc were all provided. The walled garden provided mcuh of the fruit that went into the homemade jams and preserves served in the wonderful breakfasts. The full breakfast can set you up for the day, all the ingredients are locally sourced and prepared to order. A fantasitc find and perfect for our weekend stay.

“Ideal place to stay for historic Lincoln”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

Recently returned from a 3 night stay at The Stables, and have to say that I really enjoyed the trip. We chose this B&B chiefly on location and the availability of a twin-bedded room, but we also found that the price was very good.
The rooms are not huge, but they are spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. The en-suite shower room was also very clean and fresh feeling - though lacking in somewhere to hang your towels properly!
The room had a TV and tea/coffee making facilities, with fresh milk available from the kitchen downstairs. Breakfast was cooked to order in the the kitchen - and we certainly felt full after we left each day.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Bailgate and the Cathedral/Castle area, and there are plenty of nice restauarnts around. We tried Gino's (Italian), Thailand Number 1 (Thai!) and Fourteen (Gastro) - and they were all lovely.
We were made to feel very welcome at the B&B, and particularly appreciated the chance to leave our cars there on the last day so that we could make the most of the visit. All in all, a great place to stay.
