“A great location to explore Lincoln from, with fantastic hospitality and cosy rooms”

We stayed over for a night in December to visit the Christmas Market. The room was lovely, cosy and very clean, with everything you could need for a stay over. The bed was very comfy and decor bright and cheerful. There is parking available off street in the courtyard and breakfast is served in an open dining area in full view of the kitchen where the lovely hostess, Pippa, prepares a fantastic meal for you to help start the day, and it was nice to be able to interact with her and other guests staying whilst she prepared the locally sourced food. The sausages were the best I've tasted and poached eggs were perfect. We felt very much at home and look forward to hopefully visiting again in the summer. It is about a 5 min walk from the castle area so ideal for visiting Lincoln. Thanks to Pippa and Andy for making us feel so welcome.

Room Tip: Just ask Pippa when booking, she place you in the room the best suits you.

“Lovely b&b with excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

We had a friendly welcome from our host Philippa.
The Stables B & B location is excellent, situated in a very quite street,so you are sure of a good nights sleep, with only a 10 minute walk to the cathedral and castle with numerias restaurants nearby.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the first 3 nights we had the double room, the room was spacious and bright with modern furniture with good size en-suite.
The fourth night we stayed in the twin bedded room, the room was not spacious, and is only ideal for 1 or 2 nights, the furniture again was modern, but the en-suite was smaller.
Breakfast was very good and filling, with home made bread and preserves.
The down side to both rooms could do with a duster to go round, other then that we enjoyed our stay at the Stables.

Room Tip: The double room at the back

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2011

In an inauspicious thjough quiet and peaceful part of town, the Stables was a little hard for my satnav to find. This was solely due to the eccentric layout of Saxon Street. The Stables is located in the uphill part of Lincoln where the main tourist attractions are located, Be aware that Lincoln ancient and modern are divide ny a very steep hill. The room was modern, large, very clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Breakfast was good and the lady of the house was very helpful in finding whether attractions we were interestd in were open.

Philippa and Andy made us both feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and the facilities are great. The location is perfect, just around the corner from the Bailgate, 5 minutes walk to the Castle and Cathedral. If you are visiting Lincoln then we would recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

“A gem”

The Stables is perfectly located close to the middle of Lincoln on a quiet side street, so it's less than 10 minutes' walk in, but a peaceful night's sleep. The building is lovely, a converted stables block separate to the main house, and the rooms are beautifully decorated, stylish and faultlessly clean. Philippa is warm and friendly, and the breakfast is delicious - cooked fresh, with the Lincolnshire sausage a special treat! It's fantastic value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
