We stayed at bail mews, a four poster room with separate bathroom was booked but we received a phone call telling us due to over booking we would be upgraded to a double with shower room and 40inch tv. On getting there we were shown our room which was furthest from the main hotel. Big wall in front of the door which lead into a kitchen through this was bedroom which was a good room apart from only being able to see a shed from the window, and the 40inch tv was on top of a tv unit which was on top of a chest of draws, which made the tv very high. The shower room was through the kitchen and a hallway which both were cold as they didn't seem to have radiators and the flooring throughout was tiles which didnt help . Sorry we dont believe this was an upgrade.
We did find it unusual that no paper work was in the room, places to visit or hotel checking in and times or fire evacuation proceders.
The main hotel was lovely, the complementary tea and coffees were a lovely touch and the sofas comfortable and homely. Staff were helpful and friendly .
We would stay again but ask for a room within the main hotel,
