“Have to agree - Fawlty towers sans Basil”

Having read the review posted previous I am forced to agree with their assessment. An awful attitude towards guests from a company that obviously cares not one bit so long as they get paid.
The only thing that was missing (and I include the wobbly sets in this assessment) was a small scene of slapstick violence between the hotel manager and non-english speaking employee. Although this at least would have helped us raise a smile.
Not recommended and I really can't bring myself to type anything more. One to avoid - I certainly shall in future.

“Interesting experience.”

Hmm, not as bad an experience as the first reviewer - but it isn't wonderful either.

We had one of the refurbished rooms and things were definitely nicer than the experiences described by the first review. The room was neutrally decorated and was spacious with a large bay window which made it feel airy. The laminate/wood flooring was good for my wife's hayfever, but it was a pity it had not been cleaned thoroughly (ie only swept and not moped). The rest of the room was clean and reasonably well presented with the usual hotel accessories (TV, kettle, etc.).

The front door had a key code so we did not experience any access problems

The breakfast experience with the large plasma TV and 80s MTV in the bar was not wonderful. The room is small so felt cramped and the staff a bit abrupt. We also had difficulty finding someone to settle our bill (they appeared to be busy with breakfast).

Overall we were glad that we were only staying for one night. It looks like they are trying to improve their image by refurbishing their rooms, but until they fix small problems, like the cleaning of the floor, their slightly unattentive customer service, etc. then I cannot say I recommend this place.

“"It's the pits man"....FAULTY TOWERS”

Where to start...here is a list to give you an idea;

they had not cleaned/prepared the rooms from the previous night at 6.15pm when we arrived
they had booked us a single when we had asked for a double
no hairdryer or towels in room and when towels arrived they were all frayed at the edges
room was utterly FILTHY, a 70's monstrosity in decor and fittings, hadn't been hoovered and there was dust visible on the carpets and the headboard and debris on the small shower room floor, cigarette burns on the bed cover
they told us the front door would be open till 11pm and after that ring the bell. Got back at (yes we did brave it as it was only one night and the bed sheets etc were okay) 10.05 and the door was locked and we had to wait for someone to let us in.
they told us breakfast would be 8.30-10pm on a Sunday but when we got down at 9pm the dining room door was locked!! and there was no-one around. We waited 15 mins before we could get hold of anyone. Breakfast was pretty dire and served in a bar area with a huge plasma screen belting out Lionel Richie, Barry White,Lady in Red and other such stuff which you don;t want first thing on a Sunday or any morning.

Need I go on...AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE TWO HOOTS ABOUT THEIR GUESTS' COMFORT AND WE FELT LIKE A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. We nearly did a runner but for the fact we were tired and were only there for one night. Curiously enough it is listed on the University of Leicester accommodation website as hotels to stay when visiting students, which we were doing-I wonder if they have been in it recently. Basil Fawlty eat you heart out......
