It is quite hard to review a hotel like this because there is not a lot that distinguishes it for good or ill from so many hotels in this price bracket. The food is a little better than most but the rooms feel tired. Mine had a somewhat damp smell, which seemed to be drifting in from the corridor where part of the ceiling had been taken down, apparently to dry out a leak from above. I had a quiet room at the back but some colleagues had noisier rooms and I could certainly hear the TV from either side. The wi-fi was free which is a real plus in English hotels - but it didn't work and the staff pretty much just shrugged this off rather than seeing it as a serious issue for a hotel catering to a business market. I don't like paying a surcharge but at least the system usually works.

I was impressed with the hotel. It is very much a budget hotel and it is excellent value for money.

The food choice for dinner is good and they regularly have specials all at reasonable prices. Breakfast was also good with a wide choice

The Hotel is situated on a main road so try to get a room at the back if you are a light sleeper.

The rooms are good, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly but sometimes did seem a bit low on numbers and that put them under pressure

I would definitely stay here again

The hotel itself is ok. Clean tidy and the staff are friendly the rooms are as you would expect in these type of hotels. Ideal for a couple of nights. The ceiling in the bathroom did look like it was about to come down though if it had one more leak from room above. One thing could not fault was the meals. They were really really good. Breakfast was ok. Now the bad points are if you look on the website today it's place has a light airy gym with a lovely looking swimming pool and jacuzzi etc. don,t believe the pics. The gym has 1 light working. The water in the cooler tasted like it been in there since the machine was installed. The kit needs help. Most of it would be deemed unsafe if inspected. Now the pool looks like it hasn't been used for years. It is just used to store junk stuff in and around it. Think you need to sort this out or amend your website. A shame really as this really let all the good things down.

Booked a 2 night stay as we were attending a Tigers game. Check in was easy and room was OK. We had been told to go out and try a Leicester curry but thought we would try the hotel restaurant as we had been travelling for a while. The starter was fine (if you like fridge cold plum sauce with hot duck), for the main we ordered slow roast pork with crackling and lamb shoulder with kofta. The slow roast pork was quite dry and tough and the crackling didn't appear at all. The kofta was not available and the lamb was not shoulder, probably leg but was tough enough to be mutton! If you drink red wine you get the choice of 3 if you drink white wine it's dry or medium. We told the room maid not to worry to service the room on the saturday but asked for the tea and coffee to be replenished, we didn't get the tea and coffee but a carrier bag full of towels sat outside our room for the rest of that day and night.
