“We loved it and we'll be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

I came in 2008, and as it hadn't been in a while i forgot the name of it, i knew roughly where it were but wasent sure on the name, i rung up the tourist information they gave me some names of bed and breakfasts and i couldn't recognize any of the names, i went on google maps in the end i found the name of it booked to stay over night in june.

And can i just say I loved it the first time i came and i loved it second time round..

I came to the harbour hotel over night on the 28th June 2011, and i must say its very child friendly. We were greeted upon arrival, showed to the room we were staying in which id like to say were a decent size room, we had freeview channels and a good size en suite bathroom.

We had fresh towels, tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms it were also quiet on the night time which is always a good thing.

We got given a key which we could come back in the hotel what ever time we wanted to which i thought were a good idea.

Next day we came in the dining room were we had a full English breakfast which were delicious was well pleased with it.

All in all, 10/10 without a doubt, right next to pleasure beach you can actually see the pepsi max, warm welcoming, nice and tidy, the train station is right behind as well

My son said when we left this is the best holiday ever he had a right good conversation with the owners, he had a play with the dogs which are friendly. i were upset to leave as well.

Thank you for having us..

“Nice, friendly and simple youth-hostel-style hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011 via mobile

Nice old couple runs the hotel with their little dog for company, rooms small and basic- in my single room £20/night plus a good cooked english breakfast, cereal and toast and nice cuppa. Room consists of nicely made bed, tv with free view, chest of draws, sink, bed side table (which won't fit next to the bed but is at the foot of the bed) -this is actually the length of the room. They supply tea making facilities, face towel, soap. There is a shared shower and loo- one per floor. It would suit someone looking for a step up from a youth hostel. Very good value for money, friendly, it has its own bar (which is cheaper than the pubs prices!) if you just want a no-frills bed and breakfast this is a great little b&b.

“Dont be scared by some of these reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2011

As a surprise for my partner and kids I decided very last minute to find a B & B in Blackpool and go up for the weekend. After frantically trying to find one I finally found the harbour hotel, the price was reasonable, and they had a vacany so I booked. After booking I checked the reviews and was very worried as some of the reviews would make out you were staying in a terrible place. This was not the case, upon arrival both the Husband & Wife were very freindly to myself, my partner and my 2 children. The room was ample for what we needed as most of our time was spent outdoors and not couped up in the room. Very happily we noted that the room had Freeview to keep the kids entertained in the morning. My partner was wuite apprehensive towards the fact it was a shared bathroom but these apprehensions were put to bed as soon as we got there as they were clean and tidy and well maintaned. The beds were all very comfortable and due to the location there was no noise from the hen and stag parties you see as soon as the sun goes down. Breakfast in the morning was great and they were very accomadting for the kids who at first were shy and then as soon as they saw our breakfasts wanted some of their own. The lady had told us that she heard the kids up at 6:30 and had got some of her Granddaughters toys down in the lounge for the kids to play with. Had i known i would have taken them down and given my partner a well deserved lie-in. All in all it is a great place to stay and very good value for money with very good customer service. There was no noise from other guests and when ever we needed anything the couple were very helpful. My only slight problem was the resident guest who creeped my eldest child out as he kept watching us come and go from his window. We never saw him in the B & B but seemed to see us every time we came and left.
My partner and I both agreed there are hundreds of other B & B's in blackpool but should we decide to go back we wont have any hesitation in re booking here!

“Not as bad as the other reviews make out!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

After reading some of the reviews on here, we were concerned to say the least. We were expecting the Hammer House of Horrors and a complete dump... but since it only cost us £48 for two nights en suite B&B we realised that we would probably get what we paid for.

I wouldn't say we were "pleasantly" surprised but it was definitely better than we had expected after reading the terrible reviews on this site. Don't be fooled by the name, it's definitely not a hotel, more a Guest House.

The couple who run the place are in their 70's and were really welcoming and lovely. The room itself was quite small and a bit damp smelling but it was warm and clean. We had a TV/DVD with Freeview which is more than we got at the so called Boutique Hotel we stayed at last year (which cost us twice the amount!).

Breakfast was GORGEOUS. We had a choice of Kellogg's cereal's, a pot of tea, orange juice, as much toast as we could eat and then a huge Full English breakfast.

There is a little dog (Toby) there who was very yappy for about 2 minutes when we arrived but then became best friends with us after making a bit of a fuss of him.

The Harbour is right next to the Pleasure Beach but a real walk from the night life as it's down past the South Pier and took us about 40 minutes to walk the 2.5 miles to the Tower. So if you are going there for the nightlife, you will need a taxi, especially if you are in heels!! (you should see my blisters lol). Book private hire though as the Hackney Carriage's are not cheap! Cost us £6.50 to go 2 miles. Private hire was £4.

All in all, it's a far cry from the Ritz, but for the price, you get what you pay for. Recommended if only for the delicious breakfast!!
