“Nothing special. Don't think I would stay again!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Booked into this hotel last minute as me and my boyfriend decided to go away for the night.

Walking into the hotel you get an old musky smell which isn't too pleasant, it's very dated and could do with being decorated.

We paid £60 for the night in a sea view room - on arrival to the room it was very spacious and clean looking, the bathroom was small but clean and had hot running water which is always a plus.

There was some rot on the windows and mould & the windows were in need of a clean (I thought with it being a sea front view room they would at least have windows you could see out of)

The television was a small portable mounted on the wall with a freeview box! We also had refreshments and clean cups to pour ourselfs a drink.

In the evening we went down to the bar which we stayed in most of the night - the drinks were cheap at the atmosphere was nice. Played good music young people can relate to and had a dance floor with disco lighting.

The staff didn't seem too bothered we were there, not very friendly at all the man just sat behind the bar on his laptop all night being unsociable! He was also very strange and creeped me out as he kept staring at me! (bit of a perv if you ask me)

The toilets near the bar area were very clean with heating and clean towels.

Breakfast in the morning was great set out in a buffet style all you can eat with unlimited fresh orange juice.

Overall I dont know if I would stay here again, it's not the worst hotel in the world but certainly not the best! It's cheap and near the fair and arcades so maybe I would if it was another last minute thing. Certainly wouldn't go in October again though as it was FREEZING!

me and my boyfriend have just spent a fantastic night at the howards crest hotel. i am very fussy about where i stay but i cant praise this hotel enough. our seaview room was very clean smelt nice and the bed was so comfortable, the owner janet is so friendly and down to earth we talked to her for hours in the bar like we had known her for years , fabio bends over backwards for you anything you ask for he will get it for you straight away, ben is also friendly soon as we walked into the bar we where talikng to all of them we felt so welcome and spencer the dog is so lovely and well behaved he came over to say hello and then he goes back over to his chair and sits there unless called, the bar is lovely and big and very cheap for a blackpool promenade hotel we sat and talked with janet an fabio in the bar for hours, we had the most comfortable sleep. the next moring fabio served us a lovely breakfast with extras as we had requested for free the breakfast was lovey and there was plenty to eat we could not manage it all when it was time to leave we said goodbye an said we would be back in october and we cannot wait this hotel is the friendliest hotel in blackpool and the best value foe money i would reccomend it to anyone

Room Tip: 2nd floor seaview
