me and my boyfriend have just spent a fantastic night at the howards crest hotel. i am very fussy about where i stay but i cant praise this hotel enough. our seaview room was very clean smelt nice and the bed was so comfortable, the owner janet is so friendly and down to earth we talked to her for hours in the bar like we had known her for years , fabio bends over backwards for you anything you ask for he will get it for you straight away, ben is also friendly soon as we walked into the bar we where talikng to all of them we felt so welcome and spencer the dog is so lovely and well behaved he came over to say hello and then he goes back over to his chair and sits there unless called, the bar is lovely and big and very cheap for a blackpool promenade hotel we sat and talked with janet an fabio in the bar for hours, we had the most comfortable sleep. the next moring fabio served us a lovely breakfast with extras as we had requested for free the breakfast was lovey and there was plenty to eat we could not manage it all when it was time to leave we said goodbye an said we would be back in october and we cannot wait this hotel is the friendliest hotel in blackpool and the best value foe money i would reccomend it to anyone

Room Tip: 2nd floor seaview

The few problems that we had the staff bent over backwards to help, spencer the dog is part of the hotel and wouldnt be the same without him, were already saving for next yrs trip and were bringing some of our friends too see you all then xxxxxx

“HOWARDS CREST HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

How dare anyone call the Howard's Crest Hotel in Blackpool shabby and dirty this is the friendliest hotel that you could wish to visit. Janet the owner could not be any friendlier or helpful to her guests, if they have a problem she will do all that she can to resolve it for them.As for Spencer the dog, he does nobody any harm, he is so friendly and docile you would bite him rather than him bite you because he would never hurt anyone, he is good company for Janet the owner as she has MS, but because two people complained she is now distraught thinking that she has to have the dog put down but why should she when it has been 2 people out of all the guests that she has had stay there.
They often have brilliant entertainment with Ben the cabaret singer, plus they do a lovely carvery for £5.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but if you want 5 star treatment then please do not expect it here go and pay for 5 star treatment.
Had these people spoken to Janet or the staff they would have resolved any problems that they had with their rooms or any other problem.

“Oh dear.....”

Such a shame that what could be a great hotel has been left to rot!! It is very dirty! Our room had a lovely see view which we could just see through the dirt, the toilet and shower smelled like they hadn't seen domestos in a long time, the shower was a trickle but it was hot and the windows are so thin the curtains moved with the draft. Breakfast was OK, but the area they use if serving a buffet was covered in dried in food! The best word for this place is GRUBBY, it needs a good proper clean from top to bottom, the carpets are dirty and badly stained, and a stinking fat dog wanders around the place leaving dog hair behind him. I felt dirty from the minute I arrived till the minute I left. As i said, such a shame as it could be a great place.
