“disabled friendly!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

Excellent, loved it, i stayed here with my husband and my 3 children, one of our children has physical disabilities and one has mental disabilities, they made us feel most welcome and helped in every way possible with the children, the male owner carried the children's equipment up the stairs while my husband carried our daughter and the lady owner carried our baby, they catered for our child's dietary needs at all different times of the day, i wouldn't stay anywhere else in Blackpool these people made us feel extremely welcome and helped in every way they could, lovely couple and clean rooms, the hotel always smelt fresh and is decorated and kept to a high standard, love the place, friendly helpful people and lovely presented hotel, well done to the owners!

“Shocking”

Booked a two night stay. Took my mother as she has not been since my dad passed away two years ago and we were really looking forward to this. I booked after reading up on the internet and they were also dog friendly. Even though the room was very small we found it generally clean. My mother struggled as there was no where to read a paper only on a dressing table with cupboards above of which my mother hit her head on she could not get comfortable as the only chair had no side rests and she was not comfortable sitting on the bed all night the room was extremely hot even with the window open I tied the curtain up which did not help. was just a real uncomfortable night watching TV. We were up and down all night due to the heat and the terrible uncomfortable beds the following morning we both had back ache, we pulled the covers back to find springs sticking through the material even though the bedding was clean the mattress cover had stains and we decided we could not spend another night sleeping in those beds. We went down to breakfast which was really nice I waited until the dining area was empty then spoke to the lady owner Explaining how hot the room was and how uncomfortable the beds were and my mother was almost 80 and could not cope with another night in these circumstances there was no raised voices and she said so your only staying one night I then packed the car and went to pay (I could have just driven off as they had no details about me) but I did the right thing and paid her husband then approached me and demanded a further ten pound as we were not staying another night I said I do not want to argue with you but please come with me to the room and look what we have slept on he became very aggressive and said to me I have met your type before go on get out of the door now he carried on hurling abuse as I backed to the door I have never in my life felt so threatened I really thought he was going to hit me I could not get out of the door quick enough I felt sick disgusting behaviour never again will I book any hotel over the internet and will not return to Blackpool for a very long time shocking experience

I am sure some people put these type of things on trip advisor just to run hotels down even if they are not true

“Just arrived home and we WILL be booking again.”

We have just arrived home from a weeks holiday in Blackpool staying at The Trafalgar and I am just about to book again for September, this hotel is absolutely top notch. We all loved it, the owners were very friendly and always seemed to have time for us.The room we stayed in was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The thing that made this hotel more appealing was the bar that seemed to be open whenever we wanted it, we have 2 kids so staying out late in Blackpool is hard but knowing we could come back to the hotel bar for a good laugh and a game of pool made it the perfect guest-house.

“Best Blackpool Guest House, Loved it will stay again”

We have just booked to stay at this guest house again. We have stayed there a few times now and it just gets better. The service is top class and the host is very polite, friendly and most of all approachable. This guest house is very central with a 5 minute walk to the beach its great for the children. Its a very popular guest house and is often fully booked so its advised that you book early, with all the top attractions like the winter garden and tower again 5 minutes walk away its a perfect location. This Guest house also has a bar serving a range of drinks with a pool table, colour tv and board games. The last time we stayed at the guest house we went down the bar to have a few drinks and stayed all night as the atmosphere was great and its nice for familys.
The food is very nice with a lot of choice as the menus are changed daily. My favourite food was the home cooked roast diners, with fresh vegetables roast potatoes. My daughter who was 2 also ate very well, they cater for children by understanding what children like.
The rooms are quite large and are ensuite. There is a hospitality tray which is kept well stocked up. Also a colour tv. The rooms are very clean and smell clean, which is always important for me. The owners made us feel so welcome and are so friendly. We would highly recommend this guest house and this would be the only place where we would stay when we come to blackpool.

  • Liked — The food. Its was very good value for your money and the fod was home cooked.
  • Disliked — If your room is on the top floor of the hotel then you have a big climb up the stairs. Better for the fit
