“Excellent as usual”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

This family hotel is really lovely. It was very clean and tidy, the owners were very welcoming and it was not noisy at all. Soft towels, comfy beds, hot showers, as much as you can eat for breakfast and wifi broadband. There is a fantastic little sun lounge which I used as my 'office' for the day and I was very happy there. There is ample free parking nearby. I would recommend this hotel as a base for business. It was also excellent value and my family and I were reluctant to leave.... but I think we will be back

“High standards !!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Stayed at the Glenwalden 29/10/11 and similar date last year, we travelled nearly 200 miles as I cannot praise this B&B enough.
The location is great just out of the main centre of Blackpool on the sea front. The owners Steve and Siegried are the perfect hosts , very polite very friendly and pleasant to engage in conversation with even when they are busy find the time for you as their guests.
The accommodation for a guest house was fantastic emphasis on the cleanliness second to none.
The rooms are excellent and beds very comfortable , no rusty showers or dodgy decor ,very tasteful and bright.
The breakfasts are first class and more than adequate , the cooked English. Is ample and well cooked not greasy and you are always offered extra tea and coffee and toast at no extra cost.
All in all for its star rating it is excellent and very good value for money !!!
Went last year and this for the lights and will definitely see them again next year if not before I would i wold highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Sea front ones I like for the view but there are larger ones than we stayed in

“Very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This is the first review I have written on this website but I have been motivated to do so after an unexpectedly nice time staying at this B&B style hotel. I have to be honest when I say that Blackpool is not my favourite place but staying at this B&B made it quite pleasant. It ticks all the boxes that I care about. Its very clean, homely and the owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and you can fill up for the day with as much as you want, although I believe the cooked part of the breakfast is a fixed size. The service at breakfast was better and faster than any restaurant I have been to.
All the usual facilities were present and more importantly, they all worked without fuss.
Prices are very reasonable but I cannot comment on the bar as we never managed to get to it as we were just too busy.
The hotel has free wifi with WPA security and it worked from the top floor with my computer and was able to cope with iplayer. This was an unexpected bonus for me.
I would definitely go back to this B&B if I ever find myself in Blackpool again.

Brilliant time. The accomodation was clean spacious and well decorated with lots of nice touches like shampoo and biscuits with the coffee. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Would recommend this hotel very comfortable and welcoming.
