My husband, grandson and myself stayed here October 11. We booked a double room and asked for a cot ( grandson's only 12 months ) got keys, unlocked room door...couldn't believe how small the bedroom was...we just couldn't move around, we have never been in a room so small.
The decor was very dowdy, the strip light over the sink didn't work, and there was lots of mold on the ceiling over the shower. The bed was anything BUT DOUBLE it was 3/4, a double would never have fitted in the room.
Breakfast wasn't to bad...it was edible. What we have never experienced before is other guests (especially with children ) having to wait in the lounge for tables to become available, had to eat in shifts !
The lounge and bar area was fine but the drinks were quite expensive, this didn't bother us really because having our grandson with us we only had one drink.
Now to our biggest bugbear ACCESS we had a buggy with us and there was no way we could get in or out of the hotel without waking our grandson up and closing the buggy...or having to lift buggy with baby over walls and cars (we even had the help of other residents to help with this) it was like an assault course. I dread to think how the disabled would go on..no ramps or anything.
On check out we were asked if everything had been OK..I said that we were very disappointed with the size of the room...the landlady did apologise (but then went on to say the other rooms were even smaller, I was gobsmacked surely not ) and said that if we would like to stay again, just mention room 15 and she would put us in a family room for the same price we had paid for room 15, NO THANKYOU.
The Hotel Inspector would have a field day in this hotel.
The only consolation was the weather it was beautiful.
