we booked a weekend away in the sandringham court hotel, due to its location
and good food.On our arrival,we met the owner,John who gave us our key and instructed us when breakfast and dinner was.he was not very welcoming,in fact it felt as if you were intruding,we were not directed to our rooms,we had to find our own way.Our room was small and in poor repair, the tv was at least 10 years old, however it had an ok picture once I tuned it in!.the decor was outdated and the carpet was was smelly,I had to go and buy fabreeze!!.The bed was clean, but uncomfortable. At breakfast the next day,all the girls who work in the dining room are polite, and helpful, with the exception of a girl with curly hair, who orders the other waitresses about!!.The food was good and very tasty, which was about the only good point about the hotel. On packing up to leave on sunday,I had to ring and asked the owner if he could open the bar,so I could go out the back doors to get to the carpark to pack my car, although I had come In that way 3 days eartlier,I was abruptly told that that was not the way,and that I had to go through the dining room, however I had to wait, and wait till breakfast was finished,,He was very abrupt and quite obtuse!! It felt that because I had disturbed him,he was not going to go out of his way to help me.
In all it was an appauling atmosphere to live in,not to mention the state of the rooms, basic does not even cover it!!
I notice that since checking the hotel last there has been alot of favourable reviews submitted, however if thinking of staying in blackpool,DO NOT stay here, the owner just does not want you there.
