“if it wasnt for the company”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We did not have such a good time at the hotel. The staff were only "great" to certain people, although they were mostly courteous but did not always deal with the problem straight away. The room we had was small,(we had to keep moving the rubbish bin to get to the wardrobe or chest of drawers as there wasnt anywhere else to put it), but that was not such an important issue, it was dirty - dont think the carpet has seen a hoover for a few weeks at least. We moved the bed away from the wall, so we had just enought room to squeeze between the bed and wall so we didnt have to climb into bed. There was no bedside light so the light had to be switched off and then get into bed. We did not receive clean towels in the 3 days that we were there, and only one bath towel each (NO HAND TOWEL).The cleaning staff did knock on the door early on Saturday and asked if we needed anything, but as we had only arrived the previous afternoon, we told them we did not. That was the last time we heard or saw any cleaning staff. The light over the bathroom mirror did not work, nor did the shaver socket.
The food was ok, although the choice was poor. One meal consisting of 2 fish dishes out of a choice of 3, and the soup being the same on 2 nights with extras being added on the second. The "waiters" did not know what they were doing half the time. I was brought out 3 breakfasts one morning -(by the same waiter i had ordered my breakfast from - and he was English...The tables were not set correctly, (9 plates and 7 cups for a party of 8, dirty crockery and cutlery (although changed straight away when asked) and, would you believe, only one teaspoon for 8 on the last morning and on asking for more was told there wasnt any.. But with plenty of cafes etc around you would never go hungry. Being on a main road there was always noise, whether it was traffic or people coming home in the early hours. If you were situated at the back of the hotel, the outlook was a alley or the flat roof. In one of my partys room, the window would not open or close (although the staff did manage to close it- but when it got too hot, she could not open it again. The shower did not work, it was coming away from the wall and the shower head did not stay in place. The heating in part of the hotel did not work at all on Friday, although this was sorted out on Saturday (then too hot - moan moan - but surely this could be controlled.)
I will say though that we did have a good time, and this was purely because of the Company we were with. We personally would not go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: I wouldnt recommend the hotel, let along any of the rooms.

“Never again”

I will start off with the positives...The manager of the hotel was a lovely guy.....lets move onto the negatives.....
1.There was a smell in the room.
2.The windows would not open..
3. View from the room was a manky back alley
3.The room where tiny, never mind a cat, you would not swing a kittin in the room..
4.The decor was awful and dated
5. There was no shower gel/soap and only one towel each
I could go on but I am running out of space, my advice to you is avoid avoid avoid...
