“Great Celebration!”

I would just like to say a big thankyou to Toni and the rest of her team at the melville who all helped make my daughters 18th on sat. 12th Nov. a really special night. we had a party of 17 ladies spread over 7 rooms and don't think any of us had a problem. The rooms were clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble and the welcome we recieved when we arrived was great. We was out all afternoon, came back to change and we had asked if we could put banners up for my daughter, but when we walked in the bar Toni had already sorted it with a lovely buffet too what a lovely surprise! There was also a DJ on in the bar so had a few dances before we went on the town. This was our second stay and have booked again for June. The breakfast was lovely and served very quickly even though they had a lot of guests. I would suggest anyone staying here who does have a problem with towels, bathmats etc. speak to the staff at the time, (they dont bite! very approachable) and give them a chance to sort things, its too late when you leave. The location is excellant and yes a couple of the rooms may be a bit small but its a big hotel with lots of rooms and excellant value for money. I apologise to any of the other guests if we were a bit noisy, we was celebrating and not the hotels fault but don't think we were that bad. Can't wait for June! xxx

Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure to do a buffet for your group and to help your daughter enjoy her birthday. All comments will be passed on and we really look forward to seeing you all again in June.

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Great welcome tea/coffee biscuits/cake offered on arrival, Hotel room very very small. No towels to stand on when getting out of shower. We stayed from Monday - Friday bath towels were never changed. No hand towels left at all. BUT the friendliness of all staff and general cleanliness of hotel ,entertainment, excellent food made up for this. Just a short walk from sea front and all entertainment. Hotel bar expensive but entertainment was very good. Would we stay again a definate Yes....

Thank you for your kind review. We do strive to make all our guests feel welcome and I will pass on your message to all staff members. I would like to opologuise for your towels not being changed, we do supply bath matts in all rooms and if an extra towel is needed we can always supply them on request. I would also like to point out that we have since had a hand rail installed in our bar area as it was sugested, by your group, would be an improvement.

First view of the "banner" outside was off putting ,but once thro the doors all that changed --
Rooms were a bit dated in places, but clean and comfortable beds, Staff were excellent and the food was the best we have had for a long time, congrats to the Chef ,all on diets now we are home .Would we stay there again --------YES if they would have us ,
Walking distance for all the sights ,what more could we ask for.

Thank you for your comment, this will be passed onto the chef and all staff involved. The banners outside are being removed and replace by a new state ofthe art scanner. All the bedrooms are to under go refurbishment but we can only do this in the quiet period so hopefully next time you return they will be updated.
