We booked this B&B for an Autumn weekend away for me, my husband and a couple of girlfriends - had a couple of reservations - it has been years since we stayed in a B&B anywhere...need not have worried. From the minute we arrived we were really pleased with our choice. Lovely cheerful welcome from Chris and we were given 3 rooms adjoining on the first floor all were very clean with lots of storage, plenty of plug points, a hairdryer and TV. Ensuite bathrooms (showers) were clean with wall heaters and plenty of hot water, lovely fluffy towels and a thoughfully provided little bowl of 'just in case' toiletries. The basement of the Derwent is the cavern bar - and Chris provided amusing anecdotes along with our drinks as well as some top tips about places to go for food, drink and entertainment. Come bedtime we were delighted with very comfy beds especially the memoryfoam pillows - going to be buying some for home now - and lovely crisp bed clothes. Breakfast (Full English) was beautifully cooked plus Chris and Rob provided gallons of Tea and Coffee and Toast on demand!! (and you could have cereal too). Location wise The Derwent is very well located about a 10 min gentle stroll from town centre, tower and sea front. If you are looking for somewhere where you will get value for money, have a giggle, feel welcome and get a good nights sleep then look no further - thanks Chris and Rob - we are so planning to come back x x
