“The best place in town!!”

I've stayed at this hotel 4/5 times now and every time has been a pleasure.
There is always a warm welcome from the Brummie's version of Frank Carson!! Derek. After a long drive from London it's really good to walk in to a hotel and be greeted with a smile and a joke!!! You're made to feel at home almost immediately.
This hotel is superbly situated on the North side of Blackpool, set in a quiet location back from the main road, with sea views and plenty of on street parking and a few off street ones. Trams are 3 minutes away and 10mins takes you into the heart of Blackpool. There are local stores a 2min. walk away and several restaurants. The Gynn public house is also a 2min walk away,a large pub which has seen better days but it's just been taken over by new management and hopefully it will be sorted soon.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with the usual tea/coffee making facilities and the old tube TV's are out and LCD TV's are on the walls with freeview .The en suite bathrooms are clean with good showers and though some people may find them a little tight for space, they were perfectly alright for me.
Breakfast was good, plentyful and hot and all served to your table.
My partner and I stayed here March 3rd - 6th 2011 and therefore out of season. We were, apart from another couple, the only ones there. The trams were closed down and the whole of the front was being dug up so buses and taxi's are the only transport ,though on Saturday night Derek turned from Hotelier to taxi driver!!! and drove us to a great pub a mile up the road!
I've stayed here about 5 times now which really says it all.I've always had a great time here, the staff and the owners Derek and Barbara are real, honest, nice people where nothing is too much trouble. Always a pleasure to arrive, sad to leave!!
It will be the place I stay next time I'm up there, hopefully not too long.
EXCELLENT

“Warm and friendly, good value and a great location.”

My stay was for 6 nights full board in a front facing room overlooking Gynn Square which is a small well kept garden park. Great views of the sea front and passing trams only 3 minutes walk away. Hotel is on the north shore about 15 mins walk north of the North Pier. The owners Barbara and Derek are friendly and helpful as are other staff. Breakfast is excellent, freshly made to order and served to your table.Dinner is 3 courses and during my stay menu was varied every night being well cooked and presented. The hotel is in a residential area so is quiet and plenty on street parking and there are shops about a minutes walk away . An honest and good value hotel.

“Not quite what you would think”

We booked this hotel because we were told that dinner would be at 6.00 pm and that we were assured that there would be ample off road parking. We arrived on the Monday to find that there were only 3 car parking spaces for 20 rooms and that dinner would be at 5.30 pm. Room 11 was average, however, the bathroom was very small and you could not sit on the toilet properly. The hotel has a licensed bar but only serves cans of beer and small bottles of wine and is very over priced. It was shut when we returned to the hotel at around 9.00 pm. Breakfast was very nice but the evening meal menu was very repetitive throughout the week.

“Fabulous stay......”

Arrived at the hotel a little early as we were going to a wedding.
Greeted by a very friendly hotelier and his wife.
Check in was efficient and guided towards our room.

Room was small, and right at the back of the hotel but it was very clean, with tea making facilities, and a small screen LCD T.V.. There is a car park adjacent to the Hotel.
The bathroom was small but the shower was powerful and red hot. Just what was needed on a hangover!
The breakfast was a buffet style for fruit and cereals, with the full English made to order.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly, with the proprietor of a very jolly disposition to say the least. Never a dull moment during our two night stay.

The tram stop is literally round the corner and is easily accessible. There are local businesses for convenience shopping and eating out round the corner.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay in a clean and friendly family run hotel.
Will stay again if we go to Blackpool.

“Nice Hotel, Friendly Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2010

I spent a week at the Berwyn Hotel (room16) which was a pleasant experience for me. Derek and his wife provide great hospitality and the standard of catering is very high. My own room was in need of some TLC, but was still to a good standard. It was also good value for money., especially during the height of the season.

Berwyn Hotel is close to everything Blackpool has to offer, but just far enough a way to provide some peace from the madness of the town centre.

The other guests staying were also pleasant, considerate people, so I can recommend this hotel without reservation.
