“2nd visit to the Queensgate”

Me my mum and young son have just had yet another fantastic overnight stay at the Queensgate Hotel. We first came here in October half term to see the illuminations and enjoyed it so much we decided we would return here for another short break and again we were not disappointed. The owners and staff are absolutely fab people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. The large bar area is great for relaxing in between sight seeing or after a busy day and with an excellent play room for the kids equipped with playstation, pool table and toys, my kids were both happy and so were we! The first time we stayed we had a downstairs family room with bunk beds and a double bed and the second time we were on top floor with a double and a single bed. Both rooms were clean and comfortable with ensuite, tea and coffee making facilities and freeview TV and were more than adequate for our needs. The breakfasts are lovely and really set you up for the day consisting of a selection of cereals, full english breaki with toast and tea or coffee. I'm sure the new owners will continue to make a success of this hotel and I look forward to booking with them again soon.

“The best you can expect form Blackpool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Blackpool is the only location in the UK where every hotel has 80's decor, it's as popular with hen & stag parties as it is the over 65 retirement church group. It's a great location with many hotels on offer that are all the same standard of plain 80's decoration.

The Queensgate however does stand out from the rest! It's run by lovely amazing staff who can't meet your needs enough. After working in Lancashire my partner and I realised we were only 15mins drive from Blackpool so this would be the best destination to get a hotel. We booked online an hour before arrival and took one of only 3 rooms remaining for a quiet time of year. The owner carried our bags to our room and as the heating had been off in that room as it was meant to be empty he also brought me a heater.

There were many guests staying including a party of golfers, a girls weekend away and a few families with young children. As we'd been working all day the owner made sure we were in a quiet part of the hotel so we could have a good nights rest.

The room was very basic but was everything Blackpool should be! the most important thing was that the room and the rest of the hotel was CLEAN!

I stayed over with my partner but if I had children I would have felt comfortable staying here with them. The staff were great at telling me about the area as I'd not been for a year or two so kept me up to date on what the attractions were on that day.

We had a gorgeous full breakfast in the morning and were wished well on our way by the staff.

For a typical Blackpool, fun weekend away there is no where more welcoming than the Queensgate hotel! A perfect place to rest your head while either away with partner, having a memorable family holiday or having a good session with your friends!

When I go back to Blackpool I will stay again with the Queensgate as I've stayed in many hotels in Blackpool and learnt that the Woodchip is there to stay in ALL the hotels but there are only a few that are as clean, friendly and welcoming as the Queensgate!

Room Tip: The seafront rooms are great as it feels good to wake on a morning and see the tide crashing against...

“HATED IT, AND I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We were met by a nice women and it seemed nice and welcoming. We got to our room and we were met was only described as a box room and they called it an (up grade) and all they done was put a lick of paint on the walls and new furniture in there. I booked a double room and ended up with two single beds, one which had no duvet on...... the window in the bathroom was rotten and if i had opened it, it would of broke the heated towel rail had paint on it and the shower did not work properly. The tv did not work as scart lead was broken. we paid a lot of money to stay there an it was not worth it. The breakfast was not worth eating as you didnt get much for your money and the coffee looked like mud.
