We recently stayed at the Broadway for a tinsel and turkey weekend as part of a coach group. I would like to thank Ian Paul and all the staff there for the excellent welcome we were given, The staff were friendly polite and accomodating-Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return in the future

got back yesterday,,,what can i say that hasnt already been said ,,,,,i should read this page before i went 'it should be advertised as a no frills bed and breakfast ,,,just like all yhe rest of you i found the staff were trying to make the most of a bad job ,,if you havnt got the ingriediants you cant cook a meal ,,,the shef,,,tryed his best with whatever he could muster from the kitchen but ,,,oh boy was he on a no hoper ,,,i have to say i must have been in the best room in the place as i was the only one who had a bit of heating and a bit of room ,,i looked at 2 other rooms where people had no heating and were having to take turns at moving around the room they were so small and the bathrooms,,,i use the term lightly,,,as another person posted, were so small you couldnt swing a mouse ,all in all a realy bad hotel that would make a bnb if a bit of money was spent on it ,,,they did tell us they were closing down for refubishment after we left yesterday,,,but they reopen for tinsell and turkey breaks on friday ,,,now come on ,,,even the 60 minute makeover team are not that good ,,lol,,,dont say you havnt been warned ,,apart from hote hell ,,i had realy good few days in blackpool the lights get better and better and theres plenty of places to eat reasonably priced for all tastes and budgets and the girl who drove us around those few days was marvelouse she couldnt have helped more with the less mobile in the groupe,,,if anyone has booked the hotel next week id like to know how the refubishment went ,,,those who havnt booked and cant get anywhere else ,,,ask for room 37 and book bnb only ,,,if the price is right you,l be o.k...oh and yes the beds have springs poking you but i used a spare quilt folded and under my sheet ,,it acted as a mattress topper ,,

“disappointed”

There was no one around in reception when we first arrived, it wasn, very welcoming.
The young man that took us to our room was friendly, we asked if he could bring our cases up, his reply was only if we were with a coach tour, we are three pensioners.
On entering our room we were most disappointed has when we booked were promised a front room,we over looked roof tops plus we were on the top floor.
When mentioning it to the manager all we got back was a sarky comment.
We were asked to go down for breakfast at 9-15am after the coach tour had finished this we didn't mind,on entering the dinning room it just looked as if we had arrived in spain with all the spanish knick knacks, when we recieved our full breakfast the first two mornings it just looked as if it had been kept warm for ages the bacon was hard, the following two mornings were very nice we wondered if it was a different cheff.
They could do with more staff at meal times has the tables were not cleared away when we got down we had to wait until they cleared a table for us ,the staff looked stressed.

Must mention the beds, we went out to buy some fleeces for the beds as we could feel the springs we didn,t have a good nights sleep over the four nights we were there
We wont be returning.

Room Tip: Quiet location if you wont a cheap and cheerfull hotel this is the one.

“Great location, comfortable hotel, good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stopped for two nights at the Broadway Hotel in August 2011, two adults and two children in a family room. The family room was a double bed with two singles. On arrival, we parked up outside the hotel and even though we were too early to check in and our room wasn't ready, the gentleman on reception was happy for us to leave our car outside and gave us a ticket to put in the window and asked if we wouldn't mind returning later. This was fine with us and off we went.

We were very pleased with the location, right by the sea front, about a 10 minute walk from the pleasure beach and south pier and five minute walk to The Big One.

Due to the price (we paid £90 in total for all of us for two nights, our 11 year old child was free), we weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised on entering the room. It looked clean, smelt fresh, clean towels, not too warm or too cold, just right. Tea and coffee making facilities (these weren't replenished by the cleaners though). There was a lift too, so no need to climb lots of stairs with your bags.

The en suite toilet and shower room were fine, did the job, but nothing special, although I did notice a sweet wrapper next to the toilet bin on arrival that was still there two days later, when we left.

Maid service was fine (apart from the sweet wrapper in the bathroom). There was also a television in the room, but the digital signal was sometimes a bit ropey but maybe that's because we were by the coast, I'm not sure. On the first evening, we couldn't get the TV working at all, but a gentleman came up straight away and sorted it out for us.

The beds were very hard, but in fact, we had a great night's sleep - sometimes they say a hard bed is better for your back than a soft bed anyway.

There is entertainment downstairs in the evening, but to be honest, it was a bit cabaret and old fashioned for our liking, so we didn't stay and watch it. There is also an on site bar.

The breakfast was fine. Not a big breakfast, mind, but for what we paid, we were very happy with it and it didn't bother me as I'm not a big breakfast eater anyway. There was a big coach party there on the first morning and it was suggested that we turn up for breakfast a bit later as it could get hectic down there. On the second morning, it was quieter and the staff weren't so rushed off their feet.

On the morning we checked out, they let us keep our car parked out the front until we wanted to leave in the afternoon, which was very good of them.

All in all, we were satisfied with this hotel, with the location and it was better than we expected for the cheap price we paid. I would have no problem with stopping here again.
