“very relaxed”

we wanted to feel at ease because it was winter and we were visiting family rather than touristing. The photos fairly reflect what the hotel is like. If boutique is what you are after maybe not your thing but if you may have time on your hands and don't want to feel like you must be out all day or want to have take away and not be sneaking it in then its a place you can just stay openly in

Thank you for your review. We are absolutely not 'boutique', so you're absolutely right to point this out. We are slowly trying to get rid of any 60's/70's garish features that may be left, and instead create nice welcoming spaces. As a result, we want the Edwardian look re-instated in the hallway, which it has been, typical Blackpool snug, why change it, just decorate it, and then our nice American style diner, which gets better every year. And then of course our nice lounge with it's rose wood furniture from India, nice paintings, Chesterfield sofas, and some Chinese artifacts. This sometimes gives the hotel what has been described as an 'eclectic' feel, but also a lot appreciate the 19th century tables and chairs, grand father clock, Thai silks, Arabian swords, Asian masks.
And yes, the snug is always available to bring or order take-aways. We provide the plates and cutlery. You make yourselves at home. That's what we want. Many thanks, Simon and Rhona

“Made us feel part of the family”

We arrived early on the Friday afternoon after a long journey from Dorset. We were greeted by Simon who without any hesitation offered to change our room for one on the first floor as our original room was on the second floor, as my husband had forgotten to mention when booking that I have mobility problems. Simon offered us coffee whilst we waited for our room. Simon showed us to our room and we were both very impressed with it's overall presentation and cleanliness. We spent Friday evening at the hotel where we made use of the bar and meals (all very reasonably priced). In conversation on the Friday evening with several other guests who had stayed here before they informed us about how good Simon & Rhona's breakfast were. We duly retired to our room and had a very good night's sleep. Breakfast on the Saturday morning was most definitely worth the wait as were the following two mornings. Rhona greeted us in the dining room where she took our order for tea/coffee and whether we would like a full english breakfast or a continental style. It was well presented and plenty of it. Again on Saturday evening we made use of the bar and it's meals. We really didn't want to leave on Monday morning but needs must as work was calling. We will be recommending the New Guilderoy Hotel to our family & friends and we intend to book again. Many thanks to Rhona & Simon for making us feel so welcome. Keep up the good work.
N.B. If you are looking for a hotel with lots of load music and partying then the New Guilderoy Hotel is not for you.

Once again a brilliant relaxing weekend at the most friendliest hotel in Blackpool.
Room as usual was upto its very high standard, dinner waiting for us when we got back from the football. Breakfast to die for filled us up for the rest of the day, stayed an extra night.
Fun with other guests at the bar at night so no need to venture out.
Recommend to anyone visiting blackpool or surrounding area's.
Thank you again for an excellent weekend
Shame about the football result, next time eh?
Was nice to see they accomodated other fellow Millwall supporters & would gladly recommend the hotel to any away fans visisting blackpool.
See you both again soon.
Steve & Mandy xxx

Once again, we were made to feel instantly at home by Simon & Rhona's hospitality. Even though the New Guideroy was full we, and the many other guests we spoke with, were extremely satisfied and impressed by the personal service from our hosts. Many thanks for a super week-end. Marlene & Malcolm

Hi Marlene and Malcolm,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. So sad to hear your daughters' wedding plans scuppered Christmas and New Year, but so glad New Year came through in the end. It was fantastic, Malcolm looked awesome, and looking forward to seeing you at Christmas next year, if not before (March 24th wink! wink!), Simon and Rhona, xxx
