“A warm, friendly and inviting hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

A warm welcome awaited my family and myself when we arrived at the Collingwood Hotel. We were more than pleased with the value for money we got when staying at this hotel, it was clean, nicely furnished, warm and in a nice location with no outside noise. The only downside I could mention is the walk to the South Pier / Attractions, but trust me we needed this to walk of the scrummy home cooked food we consumed at the hotel and also we had no noise issues at night due to the location - which with my lot was a relief! And for those who do not wish to walk there is a tram stop within a few minutes walk away from the hotel, which run regular. So please do not let this put you off. I would highly recommend anyone considering to stay at this hotel to do so and to order the evening meal (4 courses!!! + tea and coffee)- total value for money at £8.50 pp and the breakfast was to die for. The owners are warm and welcoming and go that extra bit to make your stay a good one. My family and myself will be definatley returning next year. So thanks for a good weekend Pat & Christine. x x

“Worth a second visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

This was our first time at the Collingwood hotel,we hadn't booked anywhere and just took a chance on somewhere having a vacancy at this busy time of year. On the outside was a notice board tell you of the amenities,we where happy,Pat invited us in and made us really welcome,he had a room vacant and sorted us out with the keys and directed us to the room(granted he didn't escort us to the room). Our room was 16 on the top floor it was of average size, the bed was very comfortable, the shower needed a bit more power to it,there was tea and coffee facilities in the room for a short break the room was acceptable. Breakfast was lovely,we enjoyed it,we had a choice of fruit juice, cereal, oranges, grapefruit to start and then a full english with toast, with tea or coffee to finish. for our evening meal we had a a small selection to choose from,we choose a starter, then Roast lamb with veg,(there was a generous amount of lamb on the plate)and a lovely dessert with tea or coffee to finish you can even have a glass of wine to complement your meal. We found the hotel very relaxing and homely, with good hospitality from Pat. On our departure Pat came to wish us a safe journey home and Christine took a moment to do the same and thank us,this was the first time we had seen Christine in the whole of our stay. We would certainly try it again and would recommend you to try it for yourselves and view your own appinions.

“BRILLIANT STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

This is our 4th stay since Pat & Christine took over The Collingwood Hotel, where at this hotel you are treated as a friend. Our room (no 11) on the 2nd floor was clean and spacious and the breakfasts cooked by Christine are excellent. It is also definitely worth buying a daily pass on the trams or a 3 or 7 day pass from the local newsagent, as it not only saves you money it will allow you to travel further afield to Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Lytham St Annes as you can also use it on any Blackpool transport bus as well

“Outstanding customer service with brilliant food and a very warm welcome.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

We have visited this hotel for a week's summer holiday for the last few years, and also had a long weekend for the illuminations on one occasion. Like the previous owners (Elaine & Kevin), current owners Christine & Pat give an exceptionally warm welcome to all guests and really go out of the way to make your stay a good one. The location is ideal if you want to stay in a quieter location rather than in a lively area, but it is still in easy striking distance of the centre of Blackpool - about 5 minutes away on a tram or bus (very regular service too) or about 20 minutes walk along the front. The hotel is on a corner at the intersection of some back streets, with its own car park. There look to be one or two dicey characters living/staying in nearby properties but we have never witnessed any trouble or problems, the area really is quiet and no problems with sleeping. The rooms are well equipped with dvd and Freeview tv's and the beds are comfy. The food is outstanding with generous portions and all home cooked. I would definitely recommend taking the evening meal for £7. There is a nice bar with adjoining lounge, which is open whenever you fancy a drink, there's no set times which is very handy. Drink prices are very reasonable too. The guests in the hotel all seem of a similar type with no noisy or troublesome ones which makes it a really good hotel for a nice relaxing stay with no bother. Any problem you have seems to be sorted straightaway - for instance the dvd in our room did not work properly, I reported this at breakfast and when we returned to the hotel at teatime it was already replaced by a new one. We will certainly be returning again. I'd recommend buying a travel ticket from the Newsagent down the road for travelling about by tram and bus, it works out a lot cheaper and is very handy.
