“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed here for one night as we were going to a concert at the Winter Gardens. Checked in quickly and were in Room 12 at the back of the hotel. Room was ok, we had a double bed, wardrobe, coffee/tea making facilities, TV and en-suite bathroom. It was clean and nicely decorated with clean bedding and towels.

We had breakfast the next morning which was good. Good value for money and a bit better than a smaller B&B.

We stayed at The Homecliffe Hotel on the 14th of January to celebrate my Brother's Birthday. It was an excellent Hotel. We had no problems whatsoever and would recommend it to anybody.

Stay here to celebrate my wedding Anniversary in May, We had a wonderful time at the Homecliffe.
The Manger and his staff are amazing very friendly and helpful. The Homecliffe was very clean and the room was lovely my only fault was that it was a very warm day and the heating was on in our room and we couldn't work out how to turn it off :) but all in all a really wonderful place to stay.

“If London has the Eye, Then Blackpool has the Ar**hole”

Myself and my Partner arrived at the homecliffe a tad before expected it looked as though everything was fine from the outside. The reception area was a bit drab but nothing major, no big deal. The receptionist claimed no knowledge of our Booking, being rude, ABRUPPPPPT and downright ignorant. after sorting this issue we were given our keys and went to our room with our luggage. at first i honestly mistook the room for either a glorified broom cupboard or a converted hallway. the reason for our trip was to connect with my partner but the beds were stained with fluid i suspected was reprodtive and fairly recent, upon complaining i was assured that the room was empty previous which i accepted until finding items that would suggest there had been a rendevous either between someone. I thought it would have probally been the hotel staff, they were certainly over familar with each other and staff morale was clearly based upon sexual innuendo was extremly sexually charged. then there waqs the shower a small trickle of diluted pond water i expected somewhat of a power shower instead it was like being urinated on. we were in arms aboutthis and dont tend to complain so we just made themost of it. althought this put a dampener on our plans of having a sensual stay at this establishment. the soiled beds seemed tainted and we felt highly unnerved about being intimate in a bed with sheets that had someones cream left on them. the beds were ok if u didnt have to sleep in them. in the morning i felt i had been kept in a hostel or safehouse andthe shower was a nightmare to achieve anything like pressure or consistent temperature. the shower was a mouldy small hole in the wall icould only compare it to a unused fireplace converted to a dirty tiled hovel. the dust was appaling the dirt was spread about. the tv had an awful picture no reception to anything. tea and coffee facilities may as well have been stocked with locally farmed ingrediants the coffee in particular tasted old, tasteless and overall a bit dirty infact the coffee was as tired and ugly as the people and places inblackpool. Breakfast just had to be something that redeemed the room of death and unhappiness and to my delight the most important meal of the day was ok i enjoyed it until it became my only meal of the dayafter what must have been the poor quality discount store eggs or meat made us feel positively unpleasent. as for the staff, some were more helpful than others but not by a large margin. for some unbeknown reason they seemed to observe us and look at us as somekind of insect or dirt on the carpet. extremly unprofessional. the manager was simply an irritant like an itch i couldnt scratch and this bellboy or whatever he did there made me feel weird when they were seen together it looked simply wrong. i could continue for eternity however in conclusion a stay that was supposed to be fun and intimate instead was sexless and boring. i would only return to this hotel to spit at the rude staff and light a match to the reception area.

Room Tip: I would advise future guests to stand outside in that ashtray of a carpark burn the money for theroo...
