I made the booking at the Ramsay Hotel at the last minute, for a New Year break for myself and husband. We were welcomed by a pleasant receptionist who booked us in and advised us on the breakfast timetable 9 to 9:30 ( this seemed a small narrow window for a hotel with 22 bedrooms) departure details, along with issuing us with our room and front door keys. We took ourselves to our room which we found to be very clean, warm and comfortable with a lovely sea view. Having checked out the lounge and bar area we decided to take a stroll along the prom and returned approx 5pm. The hotel looked very warm and welcoming and we thought we may partake in a drink before going into Blackpool for our evening meal. The bar area, which was locked earlier, was still locked and in darkness and there was no staff members around. Not to worry we decided to get ready for our night out and try again before setting off into Blackpool. Unfortunately the bar was still closed and in darkness as was the case on our return at 10pm. Not quite what I expected. The following morning we were greeted by a friendly lady in the breakfast room had the breakfast (which was ok) and went home. The hotel was clean and very well kept, the staff, when you saw them, were friendly but the overall ambience was lacking and did not leave me with any desire to return.
