We have plenty of experience staying in B&Bs/hotels in Blackpool and personally have stayed at the Vidella twice but the previous times were a few years ago at a time when I wasn't on TripAdvisor. The location of this hotel is ideal, in the heart of the gay area and 10 minute walk from a good range of restaurants and shops.

The initial impression is one of a reasonably well presented hotel, and if we hadnt have secured a parking spot just outside the place, it would have been difficult to park closeby (but this is not uncommon on this street). After checking in we were taken to the room by a very helpful member of staff who gave us the lowdown about the hotel restaurant Cascades. The staircase inside the hotel looked shabby and smelled foisty. The room door was not painted and the room, although ensuite, was small and looked quite tired. It was clean, but a few small touches and attention to detail would improve the overall feel. For example the radiator needed painting, the chipboard bedside table had edges that were stripped and scuffed, the bathroom mirror was scratched and there were brown marks on the white walls. The bed was quite hard and the pillows were even harder! The shower in the room was powerful and hot and the room was well heated.

We didn't eat in the restaurant nor drink in the bar, but the areas looked well presented and tidy. The bar was still open when we got back from the bars. We also did not have breakfast on this occasion so I cannot comment on this.

We ran out of milk in the room, and when I went to ask for more, I was met by a rude and ignorant member of staff who was too busy looking at his mobile phone, which was blaring out, to care.

The room cost per person is comparable to a lot of the other B&Bs nearby but I think there are nicer B&Bs to stay in if visiting Blackpool and I would probably spend my money elsewhere - especially if you want to avoid dealing with rude staff.

Lovely hotel! Great bar, friendly staff, clean rooms, good location and excellent food! What more do you need? Definitely be visiting again!

group of us came from Dublin to The Vidella for sisters birthday... had a great weekend.looked after really well by Neil and the gang with complimentary cocktails to get the party started... slept great and traffic didnt disturb me even tho we were at front of building with window open. enjoyed breakfast, however, bacon was really raw one morning but this was sorted right away... will be back again for sure :)

We have been going to Blackpool for a few years now and wish we had found the Vidella sooner. We had a great weekend there was 8 of us all together 4 couples and everyone of us had a fantastic time. The rooms are fine and the breakfast was delicious although the egg was a bit tough (thanks Neil!!). We spent the night in the hotel bar on Sunday and had a great laugh, all the staff are very friendly and the owners Neil and John like a good party. All in all a great hotel and will definately be back.
