I was really worried about arriving at the Big Blue having stayed at various awful hotels in Blackpool. I needn't have worried.
Check in was excellent, the staff were friendly, smart and helpful. Our room was spacious with a large double bed and was absolutely spotless. Very well appointed with an iron and board, hairdryer and a large mirror, also a lovely flat screen TV, blackout curtains, air con and a nicely filled tea tray - no scummy kettle or old sugars! Plenty of wardrobe space and for one which can be so rare in hotels, lots of nice big hangers!
Bathroom was modern and so clean. Loads of spare towels and some nice toiletries. Great power shower and bath and lots of mirror and storage space.
Although we had not asked for it, we had an extra part to our room where there were bunkbeds, wall mounted toys and two flat screen TV's at bnunk height, which I can only imagine would have been a welcome thought for families with tired out children.
We had a few drinks in the bar whichhad a really elegant feel to it. A nice range of drinks as well. Barmen were lovely and helpful. The food menu looked great and even though we didn't eat there the food looked good. The menu was served until ten and then there were after dinner snacks available as well as veniding machines on the corridor (there is also a cash machine available)
Breakfast was lovely, nice range of cereals, bread, fresh fruit and the typical full English. We went at the "busy" time but it was well organised and we didn't feel hassled or stressed.
Safe parking which was key coded for safety.
I thought it was a great hotel, especially for Blackpool and would certainly stay again.
Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor or above as the ground floor looks right onto the carpark.
