“Good position and conference facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012
1
person found this review helpful

Situated on seafront, short taxi ride from rail station and easy walking distance to restaurants, clubs etc and, of course, the tower.
Good conference facilities with a good range of rooms. Food was excellent and dining room large. Staff attentive and friendly all through the hotel. Ordered a taxi from reception a number of times and only waited a couple of minutes.
Rooms are standard Hilton fare (ironing board and iron in room but no mini bar) but all rooms face the sea which is a nice touch. Good range of pleasant toiletries in bathroom consisting of shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel.
Clean everywhere and generally a nice place to stay for a conference. Only downside, internet connection is £15 a day.

“dont see what everyone is moaning about !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed at the hilton on saturday 28th Jan 2012 for 1 night.

On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Corridors and lifts leading to our room on the 7th floor were clean and tidy, as you would expent from a Hilton.

The room itself was very clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious, the bed was huge, there was also a sofa in the room and bunk beds for the kids with a flat screen tv in their part of the room which was out of sight of the main bedroom. The bathroom was quite small but adequate, with pleanty of towels and shampoo etc, Plenty of storage space and there was even an ironing board and iron in the room !!!

Breakfast this morning was a self service buffet consisting of continental and english food. The food was all hot and plenty available and regularly replenished.

The lobby area was clean and tidy, the staff were all friendly and very aproachable.

Generally we were very impressed with the hotel and will rebook through our local travel agent Nantwich Travel again.

Room Tip: request a higher floor, these seem to be where the suites are

“Great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Stayed for 3 nights over a weekend and the hotel was packed. Despite this the service was excellent and queuing at breakfast or for drinks was minimal.
The young gentleman who checked us in was extremely courteous and gave us useful advice.
Our room was quite small, but had plenty of cupboard space and a view of the seafront and tower. Sleep quality not great, but this was at Christmas and there were gales, so no blame attached to the hotel.
We both used the gym which was perfectly adequate, but the changing rooms are tiny. One shower in the gents! Strange considering the huge amount of space in public areas.
The breakfasts were fantastic. Comparable to most 5 stars I have visited. We went out to dinner each night, but if I return, will give dinner a chance based on the quality of breakfast.

Thank you for your positive feedback, I was pleased to see you particulary enjoyed the hearty Hilton breakfasts. Sorry you experienced high winds and inclement weather conditions, these were prevalent all over the country. Hopefully on your next stay you will try our dining experience and enjoy this as much as the breakfast.

“Awful”

I thought I was booking into a nice hotel. This place really is a hilton hotel, but it shouldn't be! Imagine the worse road side travelling lodge you've ever stayed in - dirty, grotty, run down, rude staff. This is worse! I will never stay here again.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay back in May 2011 your feedback is important to us however we are unable to answer your concerns in view of the time that has elapsed. The hotel has an ongoing refurbishment programme in order that we may bring all of our rooms up to the same standard, this takes place on a rolling programme according to business levels in the hotel. We have just replaced all of our beds, and refurbised part of the leisure centre and ladies and gents changing rooms and added a 24 hour gym whcih is now a Livingwell Leisure Centre, and further public areas and bedrooms will be ongoing throughout 2012. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you were disappointed.

“part good part bad...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

stayed for 1 night for business thought the floral arrangements were OTT and old fashioned. Bedrooms etc very clean. Bathroom a little tired bed was comfortable and room nicely decorated. Doors were white and a lot had paint chips and scuffs.
Had room service - the chunky chips were frozen. The steak baguette was nice but i dont like mustard so couldnt eat most of the bread and was poor value overall as the tray cost was £4 bringing it to £15 overall. Breakfast was better. Overall staff were helpful and friendly.
I would have slept fine but I could hear quite a lot of noise from other rooms including very loud snoring which kept me awake. I also tried to adjust the room temperature but the radiator didnt have a thermostat so I had no idea how to turn it up or down
I would stay there again but would look to eat out in the evening.

I was pleased to see you enjoyed most of the hotel services and facilities we have to offer. We will be restarting our bedroom and bathroom refurbishment programme in the near future. This is done on a rolling programme according to business levels in the hotel in order that we may bring all of our rooms up to the same standard. Chef would like to extend his apologies to you for your disappointing room service meal and this did not meet your expectations. I would further apologise you were disturbed by a guest snoring loudly, this was out of our control. Thanks for your kind comments to the staff I was pleased you found the helpful and friendly. Thank you for your feedback this is most important to us.
