I should have read the reviews before booking this hotel at short notice. I was in Blackpool as my mother had died and I needed to stay until the Monday to see the registrar. I had requested a quiet room and it was at the back of the hotel. The hum of fans/air conditioning units could be heard. The room was very small and didn't smell very nice. I asked if I could be moved but the hotel was full (all 480 rooms) - there was a line dancing awards evening with 703 people sitting down to dinner in the conference suite. (I was given a map to find my way around). A friend came to see me and took me back to her house for the night. On Sunday I changed rooms to one on the front which was slightly larger. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. Both the rooms I had were smoking rooms. Given the large amount of people they cater for it is a very slick, organised hotel and the staff were friendly. Breakfast is self service and there is a good choice. A three course dinner on Sunday evening at £12.50 was good value (again self service). I was in the dining room at 7pm and out by 7.40pm. The hotel has functions rooms, a cinema with 4 showings a day, Spindles health and leisure club and a cabaret each evening in the conservatory bar. There are bus and tram stops outside for a ride into Blackpool or along to Fleetwood. I feel this hotel is ideal if you are in a coach party or a group as it represents good value for money. However it was the wrong choice for me at that time.
