We were a party of 4 staying in 2 rooms (28/01).
We were allocated rooms in what are probably some of the bigger rooms in the hotel (be warned, there are some very pokey rooms).
Rooms were very sparse, cold feeling, not very cosy. The white walls in one of the rooms were filthy, better in the other room but still dirty. Carpets in both rooms looked like they had only been threatened with the hoover.
One room had badly fitting curtains, one had badly fitting scruffy looking roller blinds.
The linen on the beds looked like it had been put on using a catapult. No care or attention to detail here.
The room my partner and I stayed in was thankfully the better of the two, but you'd still need pretty low standards to think this hotel is ok.
There was no remote control for the tv. We brought this to the attention of the hotel, in case they thought we had stolen it. We were advised that the hotel did not have enough and they would try and find one for us. They did.
The guys in the other room had issues when the bed in their room collapsed in the middle, and a member of staff had to come and prop it up. Also the iron provided by the hotel blew all the power in their room.
I know TRAVELODGE are a 'cheaper' hotel brand and you get what you pay for, but for £66 per room per night I expect more. Having said that, even if I had only paid their £19 sale rate I would still not have been happy with the state of the rooms in this hotel.
We have stayed in Travelodges before but this is by far the worst one.
We won't be staying here again.
