“Basic! Dirty! Awful! Avoid!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We were a party of 4 staying in 2 rooms (28/01).

We were allocated rooms in what are probably some of the bigger rooms in the hotel (be warned, there are some very pokey rooms).

Rooms were very sparse, cold feeling, not very cosy. The white walls in one of the rooms were filthy, better in the other room but still dirty. Carpets in both rooms looked like they had only been threatened with the hoover.

One room had badly fitting curtains, one had badly fitting scruffy looking roller blinds.

The linen on the beds looked like it had been put on using a catapult. No care or attention to detail here.

The room my partner and I stayed in was thankfully the better of the two, but you'd still need pretty low standards to think this hotel is ok.

There was no remote control for the tv. We brought this to the attention of the hotel, in case they thought we had stolen it. We were advised that the hotel did not have enough and they would try and find one for us. They did.

The guys in the other room had issues when the bed in their room collapsed in the middle, and a member of staff had to come and prop it up. Also the iron provided by the hotel blew all the power in their room.

I know TRAVELODGE are a 'cheaper' hotel brand and you get what you pay for, but for £66 per room per night I expect more. Having said that, even if I had only paid their £19 sale rate I would still not have been happy with the state of the rooms in this hotel.

We have stayed in Travelodges before but this is by far the worst one.

We won't be staying here again.

Room Tip: Spend a little bit more and stay somewhere decent. If you prefer budget hotels try the Blackpool Pre...

“Never again !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Stayed at this travelodge in Saturday 28th January for a night out. Check in is 3pm so half the days had gone by the time you get in your room, we popped in to ask if we could check in just to get an allocation but the girl on reception was busy doing nothing and didnt want to know. Got the 2 rooms at 3pm, 3rd floor with nice sea views but the rooms were Minging, smelly dirty and one had no curtains, just white roller blinds. The beds both sagged in the middle and one was actually broken underneath. The rooms were freezing and had little plug in heaters ? Tiny !! The walls are filthy in the corridors and in th room, one of that lifts was broke and the electricity went off when using a 'travelodge' iron. £70 per room, very expensive for what you get.. There's is value for money basic but this is rip off cheap and nasty. We stayed at the premier travel inn the night before behind the pleasure beach for £29, it's was perfect, excellent customer service and lovely comfortable room
I'm not staying in any more travelodges again.

“Great position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We booked In for 2 nights the weekend before Christmas It cost just 28 pounds for 2 nights for the two of us.Cant complain at the price. We asked for and received a sea view room which was on the top floor by the lift.We never heard the lift and our room was a L shaped room plenty of room..There Is parking In a multi storey nearby but It Is 14 pound for 24 hours the same price as the room. Not being born yesterday I parked outside a b&b close by for free.Harry Ramsden Is just around the corner.2 wetherspoons just a little further.1.99 a pint In wetherspoons and we had a fantastic Christmas dinner there. It was very quiet at night but If you book In season Its just the opposite so beware.Triple glazing In the room so that helps.Book out of season you will have a great time. Its very clean and the staff are young and very nice.

Room Tip: Sea view high floor

“Wonderful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed in this hotel with my friends as we were in Blackpool for a weekend away.
I can not fault the location of this hotel it is near the beach, pier, tower, bars and restaurants. So ideal if you are coming here for the sounds and sights.
My room was large with a double bed nice shower/ bathroom and kettle. My air con/ heater was working - but in my friends rooms they had to ask for heaters as theirs were not.
Reception staff were helpful and cheery and there is a restaurant/ bar on site.
My only suggestion would be for the hotel to maybe keep remote controls in reception as they seemed to not have any due to them being taken. Which means that guests have to strain to change channels etc.
Other than that all good :-)

Room Tip: Seaviews are available
