We decided to have a last minute holiday (day before) to celebrate my fiances birthday. At the last minute we decided it would be blackpool ,as we have been abroad so many times over the last few years we fancied a change.I cringe at the thought of blackpool because it is so run down and alot of the accommodation is unihabitable BUT after seeing the photos of the apartments on this establishments website i thought we would give it a try instead of a hotel because we wanted a more relaxing holiday and not have the hassle of going down for breakfast every morning .We stayed in apartment 3 front view monday to friday for £114 we got about a £70 discount because it was a very very late booking .We phoned the lady who runs the apartments to tell her we were not sure what time we would arrive which she said was fine. When we arrived we knocked on the door of the apartments for about 10 minutes but got no answer so called the number we had from the website.I was quite shocked to learn that she did not live on the premises and we were the only people in the whole building during our stay ,i felt quite nervous about this because their was no security on the premises at all but at least there was three of us in our group.
We had to phone the lady up because we were about to watch a dvd we had taken with us but there was no dvd player in the room which it had stated on the web so she said she would bring it round the following day which she did then we found there was no frying pan so had to tell her and she took one from another apartment ,i felt as if i was complaining but they were items we needed and they were listed on the inventory. The standed in no 3 is quite good but not perfect some faults were faulty toaster, loose toilet roll holder, loose toilet seat, freezing shelf in fridge did not work, really filthy windows ON THE OUTSIDE NOT INSIDE.missing lamp bulbs, but after saying all that ,these are minor faults but one thing i will say the noise from the traffic is quite loud as it seems to echo down the street so keep the windows closed. The apartments are very modern and nice and warm (central heating) with freeview and dvd players and are very clean .They are perfectly located but no onsite parking so it may be a problem in peak season. We decided to stay a few more days but had to change apartments because no 3 was booked so had to move to NO.5 rear view which cost us £84 for 2 nights ,this is a better apartment by far alot less noisy (no road noise) the standed is so much higher than no 3 it has 1 single and 1 double bedroom there is an lcd tv ,3 bar stools, the bathroom is twice the size of the one in apartment 3 and has a window, the kitchen is overall ,of a better standed with better quality appliances the only fault was cooker hood did not work .
I write reviews to give people an acurate discription of places to stay i list faults as well as the good things .What i can say is alot of the faults with Cobblestones apartments are very minor ones my overall stay was very enjoyable because the apartments were so modern and clean i stopped going to blackpool because of scruffy accommodation but after staying here i would return as blackpool overall seems to be having a facelift with more upperclass shops in the new complex and in general is starting to get an upgrade the only problem i have with cobblestones is security i would not stop here if i was holidaying on my own because there is no one on site if there is a problem .
