“we had the best time”

stayed here at the end of the last month with six friends. the hotel is nice, rooms suitable and clean. the staff were absolutly lovely and couldnt do enough. they were also so patient with us, 7 girls!!...it takes a tad longer than 10am to get ready! haha. and they were there to help at anytime. the small bar downstairs was very cheap. it felt like home being there to be honest, and we were all really comfortable. breakfast was also served and was anything you'd expect from a full breakfast, also choice of cereal. id just reccomend gettng glasses bigger than thimbles for the orange juice! haha. we were also able to leave our bags for the day whilst we went on the pleasure beach. which was only a ten minute walk, the hotel is pretty much between the nightlife hotspot and the pleasure beach, we walked to both main attractions...even at night in heels! at the end of the day, respect goes both ways in a small hotel like this one. if you respect the hotel and the staff, you will get full respect back. thank you for a lovely stay. we will most definatly back :)

“Dont Go”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

The Hallway Stunk Musty, The Room Was ok If You Was A Pixie, 1 Socket In The Room, And That Was For,A TV,, Kettle,,Freeview Box, And Any Electric Items You Had, The Milk Was Sour, No Handle On The Inside Of The Bathroom Door, So When You Went To The Toilet You Had To Ask You Partner To Shut You In. There was A 3inch Screw, Sticking Out Of The Side Of The Door Frame Holding The Lock On.. The Bar Was Open But It Was £2.50 For A Can Of Bitter Which Wasent Even A Full Pint, Breakfast Was Poor Ok If You Like A Sausage With Your Plate Of Beans And Tomatoes.

“What a DUMP!!!”

For a start as soon as we got in there the manager told us off for interrupting her as she was trying to wash her hair. We had to pay upfront which i really dont recommend!! Our room was extremely small & the ensuite shower was like a stand up coffin! Wardrobes were filthy so we had to keep our clothes in suitcases. Decor really dated & scruffy looking aswell! Really wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone EVER!!!!

“OK IF YOU LIKE SHARING YOUR ROOM WITH A MOUSE!!”

we stayed at the oakwell for 2 nights the rooms were small and didnt look very clean, but had no choice but to stay as you have to pay up front on arrival, our 2nd night was awful as i found we had a little visitor in our room i alerted the owner sraight away and i had to ask if we could change our room which she then showed us a sea view room it was ok but couldnt see through the windows because they were dirty and didnt dare open the window in case we couldnt close it again as the room was freezing, we was told we could have a heater in our room as the radiator didnt work but there was no sign of a heater so we had to snuggle to keep warm as it was like sleeping in a igloo also the lock on the door didnt work, we couldnt lock it from the inside, as for the breakfast it was ok but anyone can cook bacon and sausages, i wouldnt stay here again and wouldnt recommend this hotel unless you are really desperate.

“Do Not Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2009

My friend and I was staying for one night thank god. Now we requested a smoking room which they gave us but with NO ASHTRAY. Two young girls staying in a hotel you would think they would have a lock on the door not here they didn't. I slept with one eye open. The TV had 2 channels, radio didn't work, beds two lumpy, wardrobe couldn't get into cause of bed, decor didn't match 3 walls all different, Lamp on wall didn't work, Window didn't lock, toilet didn't flush and room too small. Wish we had left but we had paid and it was late at night to go searching. Daughter needs to get some Customer Service techniques. Just horrible horrible hotel should of slept in car. More comfortable and at least the doors locked.
