“A Friendly B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

My partner and i have just come back from a short break in the lakes, were we stayed at Glen Wynne B&B. Simon and David were very nice hosts and very helpfull. The rooms were clean and tidy and very cosy. Good breakfasts. Great location. For the duration of our stay we were given a parking permit which aloud us to free parking in most of the main car parks. Both my partner and I enjoyed our stay very much, thank you Simon and David. Hope to see you next year. Helen & Trev.

“Quintessential B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

A friend of mine and I stayed here in July. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day! Clean, quiet, comfortable with all the extra touches of a great B&B plus a lovely courtyard garden. They were extra accommodating with our need for an early morning departure. Thank you for an excellent stay!

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2009

I ended up staying in a double room as my companion couldn't make it in the end. It turned out to be a nice 3 bed room with a skylight. I wish they had offered a discount.....but it was a nice stay regardless.
The room was very clean with a small but clean bathroom. The tv was very old so couldn't enjoy the tennis......but cannot complain as was too tired from walking around the lake district anyway. The hosts esp Simon are very nice and friendly. Breakfast was okay. They gave me a vegetarian option which was good. They have done the place up tastefully and named each room after the lakes. They help out with ideas for tours as well....which turned out a little expensive but enjoyable nevertheless!!

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2008

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Simon. He helped with luggage and showed us to our lovely room. He went out of his way to assist with ideas on places to go and where to eat etc.
The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The bathroom was cosy with a great shower and heaps of hot water.
Breakfast was very nice with a choice of cereal, toast, juice and coffee. Then the traditional english fry up! It was great!
I have stayed at other Lake District B&Bs and this is far far superior!
Thanks for a lovely stay both of you!

“Nice B&B, but Great Host”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2007

David and Simon were gracious host. Help with luggage up narrow stair to top floor.
Parking car near B&B is difficult, but has car park down the street.
Used car park until space available on street.
Rented small family room for three (No. 3) facing quiet Broad Street with one single bed and one double.
Room is well lighted, few electrical outlets, clean, slightly used furniture, small tv with limited tv channels mounted on shelf at corner over single bed. Sink is beside single bed and not in bathroom.
Clean bathroom with toilet and telephone booth size shower stall only. One bath towel per person with no face or medium size towels. Bathroom fan remains on for awhile after light is turned off.
No drawers or shelves to unpack luggage. It appears owner did not put enough into B&B for better accommodation, but for one nighter, it is fine. In fact, as previous reviewer noted, only B&B I found who takes one nighter in Windermere.
No computer connection.
Fabulous full English breakfast with plenty to eat.
All in all, for one night stay it will do fine. Thanks Simon and David
