We stayed one night at the Fir Trees and were very satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we would expect. Bea is an energetic and gracious hostess who helped us a great deal. Specifically, we spent the day of our arrival on an all-day bus tour of the Lake District and Bea allowed us to park in the Fir Trees lot free of charge prior to check-in while we were on the tour.

Only two drawbacks keep this from being a "5" rating: there is no common area "living room" to mingle with other guests, and eating places apart from breakfast are a lengthy walk away. Otherwise, Fir Trees is first rate.

The rooms are well appointed and comfortable but really no better than many other b&bs we stayed at throughout England and Scotland. Given the higher than average tariff, it represents only fair value for money.
No complaints but it wasn't anything to rave about.

Stayed here in setember for two nights. Had a fantastic time. Room was lovely everywhere was so clean. Breakfast was really nice. In a great location for walking to wndermere and bowness. Would defintey stay again.

Stayed here bank holiday August and could not fault. Cleanliness was fantastic and the staff lovely. Room was spacious (I think we had room 5) which had room for a small sofa in front of the tv. Bathroom was small but for the cleanliness you could not complain. Breakfast was lovely, location was good. The guest house had a nice family feel which makes a big change from the large corporate hotels. Gorgeous building grand staircase and huge window had the wow factor. A big thumbs up from us!
