“Whirlwind Lake District Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

Had a friend visiting from Canada and planned a 4day/3night trip to the Lake District. Stayed in Denehurst Guest House on our 3rd night, and it was the best out of the 3! It is a quaint and cute little guesthouse halfway between Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, and walking distance to both of them, which makes it an excellent location. Ken & Cindy were welcoming, lovely & extremely helpful. They were so well prepared, right from their recommendations on where to go for dinner, the local walks around the area, and other ideas on what to do for a short visit. Our room was small, but cosy and homely. The breakfast was great, and my friend had a taste of the Cumbrian breakfast! They have a beautiful lounge where you can relax, have a cup of tea and plan your evening/ day. They have WiFi too, which is very convenient. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, and if I get the chance, I would definitely go back in the summer!

“First visit to the Lakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

This was my first trip to the Lake District so my husband and I decided to choose and book accommodation central to Windemere. I cannot praise Ken and Cindy highly enough for making our visit such a wonderful experience. Not only their warm and friendly welcome, the exceptional breakfasts and superb room but their local knowledge which they were so willing to share. Cindy prepares the most wonderful porridge which sets anyone up for a full day of sightseeing. To find gems like Denehurst is rare these days so really we should be keeping it to oiurselves instead of sharing! Enjoy Peter Rabbit who sits in pride of place on the landing!!

Room Tip: We chose a superior room but not too sure what the difference would be to the "orginary" d...

“People Persons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Having read such fantastic reviews about the owners on Trip Advisor, we contacted Denehurst witha view to booking a mini moon stay there for next year. We knew immediately on their reply that the owners, Ken & Cindy, were our kind of people. We arranged to visit them to say hello and they told us that they would show us around and stressed that if we felt it wasn't right for us then we shouldn't be afraid to say so as they wouldn't be offended. Everything we read about Ken & Cindy was true. We couldn't have wished to meet nicer people. They gave us over an hour of their time showing us around and chatting about the area. They even said they would take great pleasure in helping us organise our days out when we stay next year. We booked on the spot. I can't think of anywhere nicer or friendlier to stay for our mini moon. Ken & Cindy, you are an absolute delight and we look forward to sharing our wedding cake with you :-) x

“Great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We came to stay just for one night but wouldn't mind staying longer.
Denehurst guest house is situated in a great location, walking distance from the Lake. Our room was very clean, en-suit bathroom, we had everything we needed.
Owners - Ken and Cindy are very friendly and organised, they've got a good knowledge of the area and are very helpful to advice and give directions.
Definitely would stay again. We came to stay just for one night but wouldn't mind staying longer.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Me and the Mrs go to Bowness-Windermere for a break from our kids twice a year and find that all the guest houses have their various positives, however, this visit lead to a situation whereby I could not stay anywhere else. Ken and Cindy were fantastic, Approchable and provided a breakfast of kings, another guest was ill and the proprietors provided unbelievable attention to this lady, still managing to ensure our stay was flawless, Thanks K+C, see you soon. Excellent
