The hotel is very good went on a groupon voucher so even better .very friendley staff, had a good clean room .food is very good it was nice to have something different we were very pleased and we would go back with the snow it was a lovely weekend

Having booked a TravelZoo offer in November for my wifes birthday break, we couldn't go but were pleasantly surprised to be told by reception when we cancelled to use our credit up at some later date. For wedding anniversary w/e of 5th and 6th February, we made it and again, were happy that the staff informed us that we could transfer the whole TravelZoo offer to that w/e as there was a new TravelZoo offer. The staff were great, food was good and we enjoyed the break with walks in the snowy area that Sunday. Bluebell 4 poster suite was hopelessly noisy from walking and bathroom noises from room above. In middle of night the snorer above was not heavy but it just meant that you heard 'everything'. Requested room change for next night. Room 2 was offered and we accepted a 'downgrade' for a quite sleep. Still could near too much of neighbouring room from bathroom but slept well. So, it is the historic construction of the buildings that amounts to a less than satisfactory 'room experience' but this is sort of compensated by the service and food. And it seemed reasonable value.

We booked this hotel through Groupon and that made it exceptionally good value. Our room was on the lower floor and was clean warm with new looking furniture. The bathroom was a bit warn and in need of repair, just one or two things that let it down. We had. Meal included the first night which was lovely with a good choice for vegetarians, it was the same for breakfast which is unusual. The bar was nice for an evening drink and the sofas by the fire at the front are lovely for chilling out. This is a quiet hotel out of the way, the service is good, not sure I would want to pay the full price for the room we stayed in but at the right price it's a good option for the location.
