You could easily run out of superlatives describing this establishment. Over the years I have stayed in many hotels here and abroad and this was by far the best. Not only is the building impressive the food is worthy of 5 michelin stars. These were not just meals they were works of art. The scouse chef is a genius and not a shellsuit in sight. Rooms were of an excellent standard - loved the touches of headed notepads and quality chocolates in their own printed boxes. Am definitely going back and hopefully the liverpudlian female guest with the annoying cackle (30 second cycle) won't be staying! Please please ban her and the Geordie party who insisted on belching loudly at breakfast (perhaps that's etiquette up there).

This was my third stay at the Craig Manor Hotel with in 9 months, do I really need to say any more.........

we stayed here last weekend for a friends 50th birthday a party of 6 adults satying bed and breakfast and evening meal on our first night. we all were upgraded to lake view rooms which were relatively small but very clean and adequate for our needs. A good loung and bar also a conservatory were available forresidents and the restaurant was large and very welcoming. we received excellent service over the weekend - good well cooked food with 4 course dinner and lovely cumbrian breakfast. We arrived to a cold front weather wise and on saturday the snow started and did not stop. But the hotel was very warm and the staff could not do enough to make our stay pleasant. we had a Winter break deal for £240 per couple 2 nights band b and dinner - first night - plus a bottle of wine in our room and home made biscuits. Lovle lilltle touches that just make a difference. great location about 5 minutes down a hill to Bowness and about10 minues in the snow walking to Windermere. We prefered Bowness lots of pubs bars restaurants and quaint little shops. Boat tripsare affordable and frequent. Well worth a visit we would stay again...

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. It's in a great location, quiet yet just five minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Bowness. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel boasts a great bar and restaurant, the buffet breakfast was very good with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. We had a free upgrade to a lake view room (probably due to the hotel being quiet) which was fantastic and would highly recommend it as it was very quiet with stunning views. Excellent car park to the rear of the hotel which is rare in Bowness, as we've found out when staying in other parts of the town.

We would definitely stay there again.
