We escaped to Near Howe during April to avoid London and the Royal Wedding mayhem. We stayed in the Bannerdale cottage - full of mod cons, spacious and very clean. The bathrooms were fabulous; the views breathtaking. Jill and Steve (and Tia the dog) were gracious hosts. Close to Keswick and the motorway for a day trip to Hadrian's Wall. We will definitely be back - I cannot wait!

We stayed in this cottage for a week in last Aagust and we absolutely loved the place and the owner's family not forgetting the loveliest dog, Tia who became the best friend of my son.
We were so warmly welcomed and throughout the stay, we were treated as part of the whole family. The owner couple were very kind to our 4 year old boy and couldn't do enough for us. The place was absolutely immaculate clean through out and the surrounding of the cottage was breathtaking.
We were all upset to leave the beautiful place and the people behind.
Other guests we met were all frequent visitors and one night we had a big BBQ in the garden all together which was really lovely.
We will definately go back there.

You could tell that the landlords Steve and Jill re-invest a good part of their earnings into the cottages as everything looks new and well kept. They were always avaialable for any assistance. Very comforatable cottage, with brilliant panorama. Would like to go again when our one year old is older.
