Pleasant enough welcome on arrival, although the owner had apparently forgotten on receiving the booking that he was due out early the next morning, necessitating an early departure. Very cramped and dated single room, compensated by the airy and pleasant bathroom - although this did not have a fixed or enclosed shower, a surprise and dissapointment. Room way over-priced, shoudl be £20. Breakfast poor and rushed - almost crisp bacon, tinned tomatoes and poor choice all round. Living and dining rooms could do with modernising.

“'EXPERIENCE' best to be MISSED!”

Family room 3 lacking in character and is cramped. Poor ensuite facility with hand held shower over bath and little hot water for 1 use. Heating went off soon after arrival.
Poor tv reception.
No evening meal available as advertised and appeared to be a one-man show.On arrival breakfast order taken, full English not as on web site, tin tomatoes,no black pudding or fried bread. Cereals in tupperware and no selection of juices.All guests at one long table.Photo on web of dining room not actual.
Whilst location is good it is seriously overpriced and over-rated.
Overall an experience is one to be missed!

A friendly stay in a nice enough place. Well worth a visit if you are
passing through Penrith. Built on lovely gardens and excellently maintained it feels like home from home. Service was fantastic with a
personal touch.
