“Good Stay In Penrith”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We managed to book this B&B at very short notice and were not disappointed,
Location is good, very close to the centre of Penrith, very short walk and very quiet at night. Ample parking and a friendly greeting from owner on arrival.
Rooms warm, clean and comfy,en suite bathrooms had good hot shower and bath . Good value for money very generous tea and coffe making facility, TV,and lovely warm beds.
All are catered for , there was eight of us and we stayed New Years Eve , triple room, double room and twin with bunk beds and we all loved our rooms.
Breakfast was good. served 7 till last order at 8.45, which was a bit early and a bit of a struggle for some of us on New Years day, but we all enjoyed a full fresh English breakfast, well cooked and there was a vaiety of choices ,
Also a very good vegetarian cooked breakfast was provided for one of our party, and there was a good choice for all, so well done Norcroft! I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to go back.

“Weekend in Penrith”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

This is a really friendly place to stay. We were there for the weekend for our Northern Conference of the Lttle Theatre Guild. The guest house was a pleasant 20 minutes stroll from Penrith Players so quite convenient. The welcome was excellent as was the breakfast! Paul made me lovely "fruity" porridge and the full english breakfast was delicious.
I would recommend The Norcroft to anyone walking or visiting the area. The only downside that on the 2nd night some cyclists moved into the room next to my single and were quite noisy at 720am on Sunday morning - I had rather been hoping to sleep a little longer!

Room Tip: There is only one single room and I can't say I would want to be in there again if the room next...

“Great wee place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We stayed in the disabled room ( room 1 ) and the bathroom was good for a wheelchair user, the car park was big enough for a car with a side ramp, the staff were very friendly and helpful - especially Paul. It was good value for money, clean and breakfast was good and solid. The beds were comfy and the decor though homely was clean and fresh. It was so close to Penrith town centre and pubs and restaurants. Definately recommend a visit as we loved it.

“Friendly, clean and comfortable, would recommend.”

My wife and I stayed in this B&B on our first night in Penrith, it's closer to town than another we stayed in which is convenient but next to more of a main road. Quiet all the same though.
Paul (I guess the owner) was a very friendly cheery chap, really nice bloke, showed us to our comfortable and well equipped room. The bed was massive and SO comfy, our furnishings great and the bathroom clean and supplied with shower gels and soaps etc. One note about the bath, I tried the shower attachment in the morning and it was the most powerful shower pressure ever experienced, seriously pinned against the wall it was great!
Breakfast was as massive or as light as you wanted, really good quality. Would recommend this place but know it gets booked up quickly. Not quite as good as one other we stayed in but that's personal taste and Norcroft is still brilliant! Thanks Paul.
