We stayed at the Temple Sowerby Hotel en route to Scotland, it was a quiet Wednesday evening at the beginning of February. The staff were very friendly, great welcome.
The dinner was excellent and was worthy of accolades and wouldn't be out of place within the Michelin fold. Breakfast delicious and fresh. We would stay here again, if I have any criticism it was the warmth of the bedroom, it was a very cold night and the room felt chilly, maybe the proprietors could think of having a little back up for really cold weather.
Room Tip: Request man house, the coach house maybe be cooler in winter.

Many thanks for your kind words. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and took the time to write a review. All our rooms are normally nice and snug, in both the Main House and the Coach House. This particular night was the coldest of the year and, although we do have small heaters we can provide to give a boost if necessary, I think it was probably too late - many apologies.
