We had a brilliant one-night stay arranged at short notice. Nothing was too much trouble for John and Susie in providing for our comfort and convenience - even including the cat at our special request. Well-appointed shower room, very comfortable bed, a tray with hot drinks and home-made biscuits provided, wi-fi readily available. Breakfast deserves a five-star rating, with its outstanding choice of cereals and tasty 'bits', a delicious green-fruit salad, fruit bowl, cooked Cumbrian plateful (with best ever sausage and bacon), pancakes if you wanted them, and hot toast brought exactly when you chose to have it. We had interesting conversations with both our hosts and - having been helped with carrying luggage to our nearby parked car - left feeling we were their friends, not merely guests. (Note: the small car-parking charge covers part-payment of a permit kept for visitors for the public car park which, like Honister House itself, is right beside the town centre.)
