Oakthwaite House is a wonderful B&B, perfectly situated a short walk from Keswick town centre. David & Karen are really welcoming without being at all intrusive. Breakfast is a real treat,with granola as a particular speciality. We have returned several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spotlessly clean,with pristine white linen, and boast great bathrooms with power showers. David is always happy to provide local info, whether that be great restaurants/pubs nearby or directions for walks in the stunning fells!

This is our second visit to Keswick and Oakthwaite House. We had a really great New Year's break - brilliant atmosphere in the town square at midnight. Oakthwaite is a must - simply great rooms, breakfast and hosts! Good quality B&B and value for money. We hopefully will be back again soon!

From the moment we arrived David was helpful and attentive, nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was brilliantly clean, modern and well equipped (hair dryer, iron & board). There was good quality tea and coffee with lovely biscuits, a TV with built in DVD player (selection of DVDs at the top of the stairs), a very new looking en suite with excellent shower. To top it off a present of wine and chocolates from our host as it was Christmas time.
All the reviews mention the amazing breakfast, and, it truly is!, fantastic quality local ingredients, well cooked and plenty of it, and a great range of options, my wife recommends the home made granola with honey and yogurt, ideal to get you going on that walk first thing in the morning.
A well run, well organised, well situated, clean guest house and great value!
You will not be disappointed, the best guest house we've ever stayed in, highly recommended.
The only way to improve it? They'd have to make it free!!

Cracking little B&B in the cntre of Keswick. Clean well furnished rooms with everything you could need. Stunning breakfasts with a wide variety, along with the full english try the granola which is superb. The hosts are very frendly and knowledgable about the local walks, places to eat etc. They will also assist in getting any wet gear dried. Only restriction is the street parking but this is Keswick and David offered to help us to the car with our stuff. Couldn't recommend more highly will return.
