We booked our stay last minute .. But what a great decision! We wanted to make the most of our stay so arrived in Keswick around dinner. Barbara checked us in early, allowing us to make the most of the day. The house is spotless and very cosy. Barbara and Paul are great hosts and make a lovely breakfast. We enjoyed having the use of a guest lounge where we read and played games. Keswick is a few minutes walk away and great for nipping in and out of town or a starting place for a days walking. Thankyou barbara and Paul! X

Barbara & Paul made us extremely welcome from the moment they greeted us at the door. Our lovely warm room ( appreciated on a cool autumal evening) was very large with a generous sized bathroom. The breakfast was superb with a good choice on the menu. On site parking a great bonus and the short walk to Keswicks pubs & restaurants made the location just perfect. Would definitely recommend this lovely B & B without hesitation.

Stayed here just to break journey home but what a great place in a good location. The room we had was large with a bathroom bigger than some bedrooms we have stayed in. Great breakfast at a reasonable time with plenty of choices. Just park the car and forget about it while you are there. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Having made a last minute decision (whilst shopping in Tesco) to take a short break in the Lakes we were extremely fortunate that due to a late cancellation we were able to spend a few days at Allerdale House. We booked at 11:30 am and arrived at 7pm the same day!

The plaudits Paul & Barbara receive are well deserved. Although not large our room was spotlessly clean and ideal for our needs. There was off road parking if required, it's an easy stroll into Keswick and the breakfast was excellent. The fresh fruit salad was actually fresh and not supplemented with tinned items as is often the case!

Paul & Barbara are wonderful hosts, being very friendly and helpful with advice on where to eat, ideas for walks etc. We will be back - although will not rely on a last minute booking next time!
