Sorry I deleted the original review so I could make another review the next day and forgot all about it :D
The weekend was great, I decided to take my Grandma and her dog for a weekend away to Cumbria as she has never been north further than Skegness from Nottingham!, the location was great for us for access just off the A66, theres no car park at the guest house itself which can't be helped and limited amounts of parking on Penrith Rd but theres a road opposite that runs off Penrith Road, this road is wide enough only for parking on 1 side and was nose to tail when we got there around 9pm, I found a space up just past Fieldside Close.
When we got there Ronnie was great he showed us areas we could go and made us feel welcome, just down the road theres a pub called Twa Dogs Inn that allows Dogs into part of the pub as long as she was kept on a lead and we both ( + the dog was happy ) had a good meal there on the first night, in the morning we had cerials and orange juice followed by a full english and tea which was very filling, if you are planning a day out walking theres the option also for a pack lunch to take out with you on request which is a very good touch.
The room and en suite was clean and warm, the colour scheme was a bit loud and in a Victorian style which didn't hamper our stay but for people that prefer a more subdude colour scheme to wake upto then room 4 isn't the one, there are other rooms though and they appear to be diferent throughout.
the Internet access was fantastic and very fast, I took my laptop with me and a Broadband dongle but having tried the wi-fi there it blew the dongle out the water and I ended up packing the dongle back into the bag, it's very handy for searching for things to do on the fly when the weather in the UK can be completely diferent from forcast the previous day.
When we decide to have another weekend away we won't hesitate to visit Brookfields again :)
Cheers Ronnie
