We stayed here for three nights recently wanting a base to explore the Lakes and surrounding district. We had room eleven which was very comfortable indeed....a huge bed which I loved(a bit too soft for my husband)but we slept really well.A good bathroom with shower,tea/coffee making etc and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff.Breakfast was something else!Fresh fruit salad, yoghurts etc and although I didn't have the Cumbrian cooked breakfast my husband did and really enjoyed the fresh local produce.I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon one morning which was excellent and there was also eggs benedict on the menu which is quite unusual.A real feast to set you up for the day ahead!!
We would highly recommend The Grange to anyone wanting a real up-market B&B .....although don't attempt the hill in the evening when going into the town for dinner unless you don't mind a climb on the way back! There are pleny of restaurants in the town....we would recommend the Italian in Station Street.....gorgeous food and good value for money.
If ever we go back that way we will certainly try The grange for a room before anywhere else.
