Each year we have a boys (and old men!) walking weekend either in Snowdonia or the Lake District. Sometimes we have stayed in dives so this year we looked more carefully at where to stay. We did not want to stay at last years Keswick venue again, so based on TA reviews decided to stay at Easedale House. Good choice and easily the best b&b so far!
Fantastically clean and looks like it has recently been refurbed. As mentioned in many reviews, the Lemon Drizzle cake was great and it was good to have packets of biscuits each day. Free wifi too. (As I have said before, the bigger, more pretentious the hotel/b&b is, the less they provide or charge you for)
We arrived at 9.00 pm after a long drive and were made very welcome and shown up to our rooms. There was a small form on which to order breakfast which saves time the next morning.
Breakfast was very good with an excellent cooked option after the usual juices and cereals. Whats more, the fire was on and there were tablecloths and cloth napkins, not paper ones.
Bedrooms had flat screens tvs, good quality towels and bedding and shower gel, shampoo and bars of soap. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate sachets.
The residents lounge would have been useful if we had decided to stay in.
Whilst there is no car park, as at the vast majority of such establishments in Keswick, we had no problems in finding on street parking nearby.
The location is perfect for the town centre which was still lively even in late October. Also there are a number of excellent walks which can be accessed from the town centre.
All of us enjoyed our stay and we would return here if staying in Keswick again. Our only minor gripe was that one person thought his bed was a little hard.
