on arrival in kendal on a busy saturday lunchtime, my mother, sister and i need a place to stay and spotted a pub advertising food and accomodation, i asked if they had any vacancies and the landlady stated she had a family room available @ £25.00 per person. Climbing up numerous stairs and walking along dark corridors we arrived at a large room with1 double bed and 2 singles, a pull out sofa bed and large seperate bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. the landlady then informed us that breakfast was not available as they had no one to cook it, this was not seem a problem as there are plenty of cafes offering cooked breakfast excellent food. we put our bags into the room and went to visit local attractions. when arriving back we made a closer inspection of the room, this is were we found numerous lights not working, dirt under the bed, dirty patches on the carpet, stained valances tucked under so they could not be seen!!!! the shower was ok but the inside of the curtain had milldew. i would not recommend this accomodation to anyone and avoid it at all costs.
