“Perfect”

stayed here on the day of the bad January Storms.
Nice, comfortable room for my wife, son and I, with en-suite shower room.
Everything spotlessly clean, friendly welcome, good recommends for dinner. The owners were helpful when we checked out by sending us a quicker way to a nearer B&Q, this ultimately saved us nearly an hour on our journey North to Scotland.
Breakfast was lovely with a choice of continental and then cooked breakfasts prepared to order.
Home made preserves and other little touches showing the attention to detail that made this a memorable stay.
Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor, with S/C appts on 1st floor.

“Excellent guesthouse”

Truly impressed. Quality of room was brilliant. Brand new bathroom, exceptionally clean and decorated and furnished to very high standard. Views from room of running beck make it a real treat (especially with the Juliet balcony). Service, welcome and reception was very warm and ran by lovely people. Breakfast was a delight with good quality products. All in all a perfect place to stay for a break in lakes.

“Outstanding B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Our experience at this B&B was wonderful from start to finish. The room was spotless and very comfortable, the bathroom had a high ceiling with skylight and was decorated in contempory style. Paul welcomed us with a coffee and cookie and was a wealth of helpful information throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The B&B is set in a restored stone building with massively thick walls, a brook runs through the garden. I am usually quite conservative in my reviews but you literally cannot go wrong with this place. Paul and Granville have everything covered in this outstanding B&B

The property is not in Kendal but a few miles outisde so you would need a car. It is perfectly placed on the edge of the lake district for exploring both this area and the Yorshire Dales by car.

There is a pub a mile or so up the road which serves a nice range of well cooked pub food (I can recommend the cumberland sausage and mash). The portions are huge. I wouldn't recommend walking with children as the traffic moves past very fast and the "footpath" isn't wide.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the adjacent field (East side of building I think, over mill race) if ther...

“best veggie breakfast ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I stayed here for one night last week, booked via laterooms, for a business trip. The price was a bargain and the service, quality of accommodation and location was great. Nothing to be improved upon and I would certainly stay here again.

“A wonderful place to stay.”

We stayed at the Millers Beck for 2 nights for my husband's 50th birthday. We had booked a triple room - a double and single bed (for our 9 year old son). The room was absolutely spotless and very well furnished. The bathroom was brill - very well thought out and 'fashionable.'
Paul greeted us on arrival and made us a very welcome pot of coffee with biscuits before showing us to our room.
The setting is beautiful wtih the beck running alongside and fields all around. Paul was great with our son - telling him about the different bird species and answering his non stop questions!
Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning and Paul kindly decorated the table on my husband's birthday - and brought out his breakfast with a candle in his sausage!
I'm sure we will visit again - thanks Paul and Granville for a lovely stay.
