Stayed here with 3 friends on a hiking/caving weekend. Big victorian house with some good views of the surrounding countryside. Facilities were fine if a little dated but that adds to the charm for me. bedrooms warm and cosy with plenty of storage. Great full english with cereal and yoghurts and plenty of coffee to set us up for a tiring day. No rules and no fuss when we stayed so I can only assume the place has changed hands since the scathing reviews back in 2003/2004. Ignore them. Would definitely recommend.
