A lovely Victorian house, great views, great location. The rooms are large and clean. Sue, the owner, is friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at this guest house 6 or 7 times now and each time I am made welcome. The rooms are nice and the owners are very helpful.

The owners of this property have changed since your last reviews! !! They couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. They seemed very knowledgable about the local area, especially the hill walking.

This is a beautiful Victorian house with lots of original features like fireplaces in the bedrooms and encaustic tiling in the hall. It was five minutes walk from the busy centre, with ample parking (which as we have experienced before can be a problem in Kendal) Also the location on the outskirts of Kendal gave easy access to the Windermere Road without negotiating the hustle and bustle and confusing one way system in Kendal town centre
From the bedroom we had panoramic views over Kendal and the hills beyond. It was peaceful, with little traffic in the street.

We had a huge bedroom with large ensuite, both very clean and nicely decorated. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

All in all it made our short break a lovely experience.

We have spent two wonderful vacations at Airethwaite House. Each time, we found the accommodations fantastic, the food exceptional, and the landlady very helpful and knowledgeable. The house is just a short walk from the town center and is situated on a hill overlooking the lovely countryside. The guests were charming and conversation at breakfast was delightful. This was by far one of the best lodgings we found in our travels in England.
