Just returned from a 2 night new year break at the lake view guest house,we stayed in the daffodil apartment as a family of 4 adults and a child of 11 . The accommodation was very comfortable with it's self contained kitchen and it's 2 good size bedrooms. Steve and michelles hospitality was exceptional and they worked hard to make sure our stay was memorable,not to mention the delicious breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend the lake view to any one looking to stay in Grasmere.

This Country House Hotel offers comfortable B&B accommodation and 3 holiday apartments. We have just spent 10 days in one of the apartments (our 3rd visit), the apartments are well appointed and warm (especially good for a November visit), the owners Michelle and Stephen are always helpful and pleasant and - best of all - dog friendly, in fact the best dog-friendly place we have found. The location is ideal, in the village of Grasmere, in its own grounds overlooking the lake and minutes from the centre, but in a secluded and quiet spot.

Enjoyed a wonderful short break at Lake View Country in the comfort of the Fellside Suite. The view from the lounge area was amazing and also an excellent vantage point for seeing the badgers feeding at night. The Fellside Suite was very comfortable (home from home) and the spa bath was a welcome touch of luxury after a day of walking and sightseeing. Michelle and Steven made us feel very welcome and our spaniel Jack was also made to feel very special, especially from Brock (Michelle & Stevens spaniel). We thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful breakfast each morning sitting in the window seat with a view over the garden. Lake View is in an amazing location with excellent views and direct access to the Lake which was ideal for Jacks "first walk" in the morning before breakfast. Lake View is also only four minutes walk to the centre of Grasmere which meant we could eat out each evening and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) and then walk back "home". I would thoroughly recommend Lake View to anyone seeking to stay in a comfortable, dog friendly home with charming and friendly hosts. Mike & Shirley Johnson, County Durham

Returned yesterday from a three night stay at Lake View. The break was a surprise for my husbands 'big' birthday so I wanted somethinig a little bit special and Lake View lived up to my expectations and more!! Tucked away down a cul-de-sac, this place is idyllic with fantastic views and lovely grounds. We had a very warm welcome from Michelle who took us to our room 'The Lake room' which is absolutely fantastic, very tastefully decorated with beautiful views across the gardens to the lake. The whirlpool bath was perfect after long walks in the hills to just laze away with a glass of wine and relax aching muscles. All the little extras within the room helped make the stay ideal such as a mini fridge (to keep the wine cool!!), iron and small board, DVD and Ipod docking station and a lovely range of items in the hospitality tray. I have to mention 2 things, 1 - the bed was ultra comfortable, I did not want to get out of it in the morning but, 2 - I had to as the breakfast is amazing, lovely wide variety of choice and enough to see you through until evening with just a snack in between!!

Thanks to Michelle and Steve for their wonderful hospitality, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Lake view without second thought.

Can't wait to come back, and hopefully see the badgers next time!!
