Family Room nice, but no tolerance of reasonable and early evening children's laughter. More or less evicted due to 24 month old grandson laughing whilst bathing prior to bed. Had to put up with banging on walls's and shouts of "shut up" at 8:30pm. Little man thoroughly upset by this, couldn't settle him so sat up in bed watching DVD's on lap top. Further "barracking, eventually gave up and drove home at 12 midnight (80) miles. At that time found people wandering around hotel looking for staff ton serve them at bar. Never again, we were apparently the ones in the wrong!

Stayed at the hotel with my 12 year old son - excellent facilities, superb staff, beautiful meals.
Would highly recommend to anyone for a family break

My family stayed at the Grasmere Red Lion for the first time last week and were delighted to have such a relaxing and wonderful weekend here. On arrival and throughout our stay the management and hotel staff were extremely helpful, advising on the best walks and what not to miss, they offered their services wherever they could. The room we stayed in was fantastic, spacious and very modern which was complimeneted by the wonderful views surrounding the hotel. The hotel has lovely leisure facilities which we took great advantage of and the breakfast every morning is not to be missed - cooked to perfection it is the only way to start your day! The adjoining pub creates a relaxed country atmosphere and serves a fantatsic range of meals with something for everyone, we were greatly impressed at the taste and quality of food and ate there every night! Overall this was a fantastic weekend at a fantastic hotel - I would highly recommend the Grasmere Red Lion to anyone who is looking for a break as they won't be disappointed!

My wife and I just returned from yet another enjoyable stay at The Red Lion Hotel, fourth time in twelve months. As always the staff very friendly and helpful, rooms immaculate and clean and food lovely. The bar has recently had a refurb, it looks lovely and has not lost it's charm. What more can I say? We will be back very soon and would highly recommend this hotel. ps the area is spectacular.
